My prescription came through from Gender GP, I paid for everything and it should be arriving by Royal Mail in 4 days. I cannot begin to describe how excited I am! There's still so much more I need to do and treatments I'll have to pay for to be happy with my appearance in the future but for now I'm like HELL YES! Going to start on progynova and finasteride, we'll see how they go but it definitely feels like progress in the right direction.
That's brilliant, Sammy! Do let us know how you go on them, what changes you see/ feel. I'm not familiar with progynova and finasteride - are they oestrogen in pill form? Beth x
Finasteride is hair loss treatment. Some trans guys will also take it to counter male pattern baldness on T.
Apparently it can help by preventing testosterone from developing into the form that causes male pattern baldness but I've heard mixed results when it comes to trans girls. It's mostly a stop gap until I can switch to something more effective down the line when I've had the medical tests required to take outright testosterone blockers.
Progynova is estrogen yes, it's what women who go through menopause tend to be perscribed. They're both in pill form, I'm not the biggest fan of needles if I'm honest the idea of me injecting an air bubble gives me anxiety ahaha.
Ah I see. I'm on the gel, which they tend to give to us older ladies - the pills increase our risk of summat or other, I've forgotten, which is less of a factor for you young 'uns. Anyway, that's great news. Onwards and upwards, Sammy! Beth x
