    mine works better on guys and also I tend to be attracted to the people my gaydar registers. (I currently like 3 gay guys and about 3 straight girls.)

    3 gay guys and 3 straight girls?! Ohh well that's no bloody good :icon_bigg

    My gaydar is malfunctioning... or just dead? It only picks up on the quite-obviously-gay gays :dry:

    Although, all of my friend's gaydars are pretty off also hahaha cos they were all shocked when I came out to them!

    Mine is pretty much nonexistant. I can get a few people here and there but I mainly assume everyone is straight until they tell me directly.

    Mine is pretty good for a straight guy with picking up on gay/lesbian, but I'm not great at picking up the ping on bisexuals.

    Sometimes I can't tell right off the bat, but usually within a few minutes of talking to them or watching them interact with other people it just jumps out at me. It has gotten better over the years though. It used to be horrible.

    What I don't understand is how I know. Even when I know, I can't pinpoint what made it apparent. I had a conversation with a friend the other day. She mentioned that a guy we both knew came out. He was totally in the closet before that. She was surprised, and when I said I had known forever, she asked how? I couldn't answer.

    So those of you with good gaydar, do you find there are specific things that give it away or is it more of an intuition or instinct type of deal?

    Better for men than it is for women, unfortunately. I'm absolutely horrible at picking out lesbians, but fairly good at picking out gay men, even the non-camp ones.

    But I don't know any real life gay people
    So I have no-one to test it on

    I have a friend who is bi and I thought she might've been before she told me

    Mine's better on guys... and kinda crappy on chics.

    I am also awesome with male actors... I guessed T.R. Knight, Zach Addy from Bones (forgot his real name) and Clay Aiken (but everyone knew that!) and Neil Patrick Harris...

    I'm pretty good with the guys, but I'm horrible at girls, which just sucks. Very rarely do I see a girl that I think is gay, and when I do it's usually not someone I'm physically attracted to cause I like girlie girls.
