Do you feel happy? Do you feel a rush in your heart? Do you feel nothing? What about during a more intimate time? When you get called pretty do you feel aroused? Maybe you don't like it?

I think I feel more comfortable being told that I look attractive instead of pretty. I’ve had people compliment me and tell me I’m pretty and that I have nice curves. But it makes me feel really uncomfortable and bad about myself. I don’t like being thought of as curvy or pretty. I would rather someone compliment me on who I am as a person, or my actions...rather than my physical appearance.

I've never actually been called 'pretty' since people don't usually say that to guys, but I do enjoy being complimented like that. It's nice of the person to say it and it helps soothe my insecurities to know someone likes how I look.

It depends on the situation though - it can get annoying when the same person gets obsessed with saying it because then it makes me feel like they're thinking of me as just a body and don't care about my personality at all.

For intimate times yea it's a turn on because it makes me happy to know my partner enjoys looking at me.

My girlfriend calls me cute all the time even though I'm don't look cute at all. Many people tend to think that once they know me.

I like being complimented but I always assume the person is lying because I don’t feel attractive in any way

On the rare occasions it happens, it generally ends up with me turning bright red and and not really knowing how to respond but I do end up feeling quite good about myself afterwards. I am not one for being the centre of attention, therefore if the compliment is given in front of others then it makes me feel a bit uncomfortable at first. The usual British way is to say "don't be stupid" or something and just dismiss it haha. In private however, I can accept it a lot easier.

I’ve never been called pretty because like Destin said, people don’t say that to guys. I have been called cute, adorable and handsome. Handsome made me feel weird, but I liked being called cute.
I’m full of insecurities so I do enjoy the compliment but at the same time it’s a new feeling I’m still not really used to.

It really depends on the context. If it's just some random person saying it, it can improve my mood a bit, but it's not a huge deal. If it's the girl I've been dating since I moved here, I admit that I get those warm and fuzzy feelings, and it can really make my day.

When it's my fiancé, I'm touched. It's very flattering.

If it's by a SO, fine, don't care much for it by anyone else

I’m terrible at accepting compliments. I wish I had the confidence to say thanks because I usually just put myself down.

As stated before, guys aren’t usually called pretty, but I know any compliment makes me feel good inside- even though I am horrible at accepting them.

Dependsssssss.... I only like being called pretty when I’m feeling more feminine, and I usually lean towards masculine in my androgynous-ness. Or completely neutral.
It doesn’t arouse me... if it’s my boyfriend, I might blush. If it’s anyone else, I feel kind of uncomfortable, because I am self-conscious. XD

    Same.

I've recently had very bad experiences with people. With men, especially, I'm now on high alert. I don't like it when they're seemingly checking me out. I don't like it when they flirt with me. I think there's an ulterior motive. Most people would see it as a good thing, take it as a compliment. However, it scares me and pisses me the fuck off. I tried checking out an educational program last month, and there was a guy there who checked me out. I wanted to tell him off and slap him. The word angry can't come close to describing how I felt. Then later, he asked me where the toilet was, I think he was trying to flirt with me, caught me off guard and I was nice to him. I wasn't caught off guard by his flirting, I just wasn't expecting anyone to approach me.

Personally I don't really like it, it makes me feel odd, and if it's a stranger saying it then it's just awkward and slightly embarrassing to me for some reason.... My girlfriend however loves to be called pretty, sometimes I feel like it really brightens her day.

    Thanks, followed by a smile.

Although to be a model I'd have to gain a stone and stop pulling my hair/picking my scalp first. Then, apart from ridicously high standards, I could be.

The only person to have ever called me beautiful was my mom :frowning2:

Me being a 5'10.5" 300lb woman means my dating pool is extremely small because people generally want skinny/er girls. I know this because nobody bothers even talking to me when I'm out and about, unless it's to tell me that I should lose weight if I want to meet someone (Yes, some old man actually said this to me). So yeah, my self-esteem is nearly non-existent... I'd like to be called pretty again though

I pick my scalp too, it's hard because sometimes I don't even notice I'm doing it
