I don't have a nickname or anything, I only have my birth name which I don't feel that comfortable with. I have never felt my assigned gender at birth (female), and I have looked at non-binary genders in the past. Recently I have been identifying myself as demigender/demiboy, as I feel male and agender but not fully one. I don't know my sexuality yet, but I have found a gender which I am comfortable with. I don't have many friends and I tried to come out to my family but that didn't go as well (they thought I was trying to get gender reassignment surgery and told me I can't make those sorts of decisions yet, which I can't, but I wasn't trying to get gender reassignment surgery). I heard of this place so I decided to try it out. Enough about that though, I need to ask the question I made this post for. What do I name myself? Names that have been quite appealing to me, but haven't been "the one", are: Ash, Dice and Lake. I don't really like my middle name either, so do you guys have any suggestions? PS: I am not looking to get my name legally changed, I just want a nickname that people online can call me that I am comfortable with, or a name my friends can call me.
By the way, I feel euphoria with short hair and masculine clothing. Idk if this is important but I am just adding it. -Unnamed
Hi and Welcome! I’m glad you joined. You’re definitely not alone in trying to figure out your gender and sexuality. I was born female too and I always felt euphoric when I cut my hair short and wore masculine clothes. To a point where I don’t dress any other way now. I found it difficult trying to find a label so I just chose non binary. Have a look through the forum. I’m sure you’ll find others the same who can help/advise you. As for a nickname, the ones you’ve chosen already are cool!
Ash, Dice or Lake!.....Hello and a great big LGBTQ+ welcome to Empty Closets! There is a sub-forum here on EC that is titled “Gender Identity and Expression”. If you post there I think you'll find people who will understand how you feel and will be able to offer support and understanding! We are so glad that you have found us here on Empty Closets! .....David
