I'm so glad I found this place. I'm 53 and just admitting? / realizing I can't hide anymore. I've realized I'm trans-female and finally reached out to my doctor about pursuing/finding out about transitioning. I'm terrified and elated and haven't slept in 2 days since taking that step. I have a lot of work to do in my life and with everyone in it over the next few years.

I remember feeling really good after making an appointment with a therapist... the whole process can be frightening, but also exciting. And I think it helps to have people you can talk to about it. So welcome

Thanks Solarcat, I got my referral and made the appointment but its weeks away! I'm hoping I can get my feelings in check and get a good night sleep before then.

Welcome Bri2020! We have almost identical stories. I'm 50 and, like you, only just realised two months ago that I'm trans. I could hardly get any sleep for the 5 days after that revelation. It was, and indeed still is, terrifying and utterly exciting.
