My name's Kelly and I think I might be a lesbian, but I'm not sure. I'm here to see if I can figure it out. I live in North Carolina and I'm in high school. I'm also hoping that I can make kind accepting friends here as I currently don't have very many.
Ah, I see you hail from a more conservative part of the nation. You'd be surprised though that even in small towns, there are enclaves of support where you least expect. This is a place where you can honestly and safely explore your feels and ask questions. The point here is that a lot of people are going through the coming out process and have different stories about their successes and challenges, so you can learn from others and do what works for you. Understand that what ever you learn about yourself is part of you, and nobody can take that away. As a final note, I would point out that we do have competent people here who do research on health and some legal issues*, whether it's tips for sexual health, psychological centeredness, or how to make a legal claim or escalate a situation involving harrassment in school or by your parents. * Of course, neither are a substitute for visiting a doctor or attorney respectively, merely a direction for you to start looking.
