Haha I have a friend who once puked watching Captain Phillips. But no I've never heard of that happening that's awful and kind of hilarious at the same time.

The original Doom games Sometimes gave me motion sickness, as well has Half Life 2. I found the Doom games still fun nonetheless, half life not as much.

I have weird eyesight, so I constantly experience ocular migraines and eye strain. No matter what I'd be doing. It happens mostly when I'm using electronics though. Especially games, 3DS *cough *cough. <3

I once played Halo 3 for so long that it made me feel sick, but to be fair I did play it for about 10 hours continuously on a CRT TV. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Oculus Rift (and I presume any VR headset) makes me feel a bit motion sick at first, but I do adjust. I might stay away from the roller coaster simulations though!

Lazuri, I do have glasses. I went through a series of tests with my eye doctor my freshman year in high school when I got sent home every other day due to my ocular problems. Yet he found nothing wrong. I don't wear my glasses around the house unless I really need them, since they're for distance not up-close. He said that my problem was blue light, being too close to my computer and phone screens, and note taking in school. It's weird, it doesn't really happen that often anymore. Like once or twice a month. <3

I can't say I have but a friend of mine gets terrible sickness when the FoV is either too small and/or can't be changed.

I'm surprised that no has has mentioned this, but low field-of-view (FOV) can cause nausea. Playing a game with low FOV is like playing sports with binoculars. It can be quite disorienting, especially in fast-moving games. Also, low framerates can also make people sick. Unfortunately, a lot of console games suffer from low FOV and framerates because developers would rather make the picture quality a little better for advertising purposes than have higher FOV and framerates.

This is one thing I like about PC games. In most PC games you can adjust the FOV (to a degree), and you can turn down the resource-intensive settings to get higher framerates if you want.

Any time I see something overly gory or plain out disgusting... very much so.
I'm very faint of heart, and if I see that sort of thing I'll often have to stop playing or mod it out of the game.

When Skyrim first came out, I'd play for hours on end. The longest I've played it was 15 hours straight without eating or taking breaks or anything. I was so light-headed after that, I took a nap on the couch, couldn't stand up for a while.

There's a horror game called Catharsis. I watched Markiplier play it for about 5 minutes before it gave me simulated motion sickness. Only game to give it to me so far though, thankfully.

Once, when I was naive enough to think I could finish the first Mass Effect in one sitting. Started a Saturday morning and gave up by Sunday evening with a huge headache and very nauseous. Made tons of progress but only managed to get through two thirds of the fucking thing. Eventually finished it by breaking my playtime down into chunks spread throughout the week, you know, the way healthy, functional human beings do.

nah. I just would get headaches if I was playing a game for too long, or I was playing a game and I was sitting right up against the tv.

I remember one of the first times I played Worms on ps3, I played one of those space levels with the giant spinning black hole in the background. I got so nauseous I threw up. :S

A game did once make me vomit, but that was related to existentialism, gazing into the abyss, and great scripting: not bad physics/camera angles or gore.

Yep. It hurts my eyes or gives me headaches. Never a good idea to play video games for 8 hours straight for people who has bad sight.

I don't play video games as much as I used to.

Sonic Adventure on Dreamcast because of bad camera angles and view, I got motion sickness from it once! :/
