Of course this is totally your decision but I think this is a really bad idea. The shame if it doesnt work will be equally as bad, better to get it right in the beginning.
I very much understand how powerful the expectations of others, particularly family, can be. However, they are not the ones getting married here and it’s not them who will have to live with the day-to-day reality of that decision. It’s your marriage. It’s not about the wedding day really, but what comes next. It needs to be your decision.
