To one of my friends over the phone.
Me: 'I think I'm in love...'
Her: 'So? That's great, right?'
Me: 'Not with a boy.'
Her: '...'
Me: 'Say something?'
Her: 'You're gay?'
Me: 'Bi'
Her: '... well, I didn't see that coming'

To another friend
Me: 'I'm ... in love'
Her: 'Cool! Who is it? Do I know him?'
Me: '...'
Her: 'Ooh, let me guess. Is it M? R?'
Me: 'Stop guessing. It's a girl.'
Her: 'WTF! ... That's a joke, right?'
Me: ...
Her: 'Oh my GOD!'
Me: '...'
Her: 'Okay, then it's K.'
Me: 'WTF, you're okay with that?'
Her: 'As long as you're not in love with me...'
Me: 'No... But I thought you'd have a problem with that.'
Her: 'Why would I? You haven't changed, have you? Only, now I know.'
Me: '...'
Her: 'But was I right? Is it K?'

It's not like I just wanted to come out. I wanted to tell my friends a while. I send a text message saying that I wanted to tell them something and they were very curious. I was really nervous, though. But I think a lot of people get responses like that.

 

dude, i wish. i like totally fell for her, and then the feeling was mutual, but then she got back together with her ex before anything could happen

 

My Mother:
"well, if I have a daughter in law instead of a son in law at least I can go shopping with her!"
(my mom has always thought that my brother might be gay)
"Well, if J ends up being gay I will still get a son in law too." It would balance out

I told one of my friends and she was so excited she yelled Oh My God and then announced that she had to now pee. I don't know if she had to pee all along or if she was just acting like an excited puppy she told me not to move and that we would talk all about it and then ran into the bathroom....then ran out with dripping wet hands yelling "there are no paper towels" and running into the mens bathroom to grab some. I was also with another guy (who I call the king of the gays) who was congratulating me through all of this and laughing at my friend

 

So did I.

Just came out to my cousin a few weeks ago:

Me: [Her], promise me you'll keep a secret?
Her: What? No. I'm not good with secrets! I don't want to hear it. (Starts babbling and covering her ears)
Me: (Shouting) I'm gay!! I'm gay!!
Her: (Laughs) Yeah, that's not much of a secret. But I love you no matter what!

Then we just talked about when I realized I was gay, who I like, etc.
I love my cousin!

 

I finally decided to make an account after a few months of reading the posts on this site. Better late than never, I suppose! Oh, yeah.. Happy Holidays, everybody! ^_^

I've had a few interesting responses from some of my friends that I've come out to. Here are a few.. (And they might be slightly long, so I apologize in advance!)

Me & V, M, N, and B:

-Over at V's house with B, M, and N, just talking.-
V: So, B, do you still like D?
M: -laughs- Oh, I doubt it. He can be a butthead at times.
B: -blushing- Noo! At least not as much as before.
Me: I know somebody who likes him, though!
N: (Seriously, like right after I said it..) Who, you?
Me: -speechless, with my mouth hanging open.-
V: Ummm.. Considering how you turned as red as a lobster, I'll assume that you actually do.
Me: !!! Ummm.. Yeahhh.. Sorry about not telling any of you earlier, but I'm.. for lack of a better term.. gay.
B & V in unison: Knew it!!
V: -smacks me.- WHY didn't you tell me last year?
Me: 'Cause I finally came to the realization that I am in fact gay!
N: -stage whispering to V- We have somebody else to go shopping with us now!
Me: Welll, I do like to shop..
V: You do realize that all of us have been wondering about you and D for awhile now, right?
Me: Whaaat?!
M & V: Yup!
V: My parents already thought that you were, which is why they let you come over to my house when they aren't home. They don't let ANY other guy into the house, just to let you know.
Me: I thought that that was odd..
V: -facepalm-
B: Now, we just need to find out about D!
M: Ya, seriously! Do you know how cute it is when the both of you argue? It sounds like you're married!
Me: .... Thanks.. I think.
V: The four of us have been betting on the possibility of the both of you asking each other out within the next year.
Me: WHAAAAT?!
-B, N, and M start laughing, V grabs her notebook and shows me their bet.-
Me: You guys actually signed this..?
V: We know that it's going to happen sooner or later. I just wanted to have a keepsake for when it does.
Me: Fine, I'll admit something.. Sometimes I text him just to argue with him, and then things turn.. perverted.
B: Like how perverted?
V: Umm, B, I don't think you want to know.
Me: Exactly. Nothing extremely overt, but.. I think that some of those texts would qualify for at least an 'R' rating.
V: I vote that we change the bet to spring.
Me: -rolls eyes-

Me & M2:

-texting each other-
M2: S!!! I think I have a new boyfriend!!
Me: Congrats! Are you sure?
M2: Mostly!
Me: -rolls eyes- Well, lucky you!
M2: Oh, is somebody jealous?
Me: Mebbe.
M2: ....... Huh..?
Me: Oopsy. Umm.. Well..
M2: Are you gay?
Me: Well, that was awfully sudden!
M2: ..
Me: .. back to you, too!
M2: Details. NOW.
Me: Fine.. Yes, I'm gay. Happy?
M2: Knew it! Remember that one day back at C's birthday party when we went out to eat and you wouldn't stop staring at that one German guy?
Me: Crap, I was staring?
M2: ... You have to be kidding me! I thought it was hilarious, especially when he noticed you staring at him and he blushed!
Me: Oh, that's evil.
M2: Well, of course I am! You wouldn't love me any other way!
Me: Can't deny that. You're still evil, though.
-The conversation went on for a few more hours. I'm glad that I have unlimited texting!-


My mother and I, a few hours before my Psych 01 final:
Me: So, let's talk!
Mother: About?
Me: I don't know.. Stuff?
Mother: I'm working on my thesis, but I guess I can take a break. What do ya want to talk about?
Me: I said stuff. That means anything.
Mother: Well, there is something that I would like to talk about, but I don't know if I'm ready to hear the answer.
Me: Oh, that narrowed down the list a bit.
Mother: S, are you gay?
Me: Holy crap! Why is that almost always the first question that somebody asks me if I want to talk to them?
Mother: I can't imagine why.. That was my first question.
Me: Well, I've wanted to tell you for awhile now, but I couldn't exactly think of a way to actually say it..-
Mother: It's a simple yes or no answer.
Me: Maybe for you it would be. To me it's kinda a big deal. My answer would be yes, but please try to avoid labeling me as such.
Mother: -sigh- I've known for awhile now, S. Even after you denied all of the times that I've asked you previously, I still knew it.
Me: So, are you okay with it?
Mother: You're a dork. I'll always love you, no matter what. That's what being a parent is for.
Me: And yet I'm picking up a strange vibe that you're not okay with it.
Mother: It's still a bit of a shock hearing you say that you are. Give me some time to get used to the fact that you like other guys. Ok, I have another another question..
Me: Yes..?
Mother: Do you like D?
Me: -jaw drops open for a few seconds- Seriously? Do I really seem to come across as liking him that much?
Mother: I figured that you did, considering how whenever you talk about your friends, he's the only one that you go on and on and on about. Besides, how many other guy friends do you have?
Me: Umm.. Just him. You know that it's hard for me to become friends with other people.
Mother: True. So, when are you going to ask him out?
Me: MOM! Really now? He's just my friend!
Mother: And yet you're blushing.
Me: I do that alot. Fine, yes I would like to, but I don't even know if he's in the same situation as me!
Mother: He only ever really hangs out with your group of friends, right?
Me: Ya, but that doesn't mean that he's still like me.
Mother: I was just making a statement by pointing out the fact that he also only ever hangs out with girls, too. Of course, there are always exceptions. Stereotypes are usually hit or miss from what I've seen.
Me: Indeed.
-the conversation went on until I left for my Psych final.-

Sooo.. yeah. Story of my 'new' life so far. Meh. :rolleyes: (And yes, I like smilies.)

So, I was dating a girl at the time (first gf actually... dating her made me realize I had to come out, and I told her I was bi even though I am really unsure if I am actually gay or not... long story. I ended it when I realized JUST how confused I am)

Anyway, I was in the car with my gf (who I had already come out to) and one of my best (girl) friends, and decided to tell her with my gf in the car so she didn;t go saying anything stupid (ha...)

Me: "So, I'm bi... but she already knows"
Friend: "Wait, so you like boys AND girls?"
ME: "That's what it means isn't it?"
Friend (to my gf in the front seat): "Girl! You just got a free pass to look at any cute boy you want!"
GF: "Why!?"
Friend: "BECAUSE HE'LL BE LOOKING TOO!
Me: :eek:
GF: :roflmao:

5 minutes later:

Friend: "Oh my god! I just realized! I AM SO SORRY FOR CALLING YOU GENDERLESS AT THAT PARTY LAST YEAR! I DIDN'T MEAN IT LIKE THAT!
Me: :dry:

 

After coming out to my sister (a few years ago, my first ever face-to-face, totally shaking like a leaf!)

[talking about The Sims]
Me: [blurting] I'm gay
Sister: .. what's that got to do with Sims?!

 

I came out to my sister and her response verbatim:

"Yves, Please you are about 16yrs behind everyone else, everyone know lol. Guess what, now we can go shopinggggggggggggg"

yup thats my family, gotta love them

 

^ Your sister is amazing! I love this thread! I have no stories at all because my coming out stories are few and far between! I just hope that most if not all of mine turn out to be painless. (I like to think possitive). My one interesting story:

Me to a friend: Ummm.... I have something I want to tell you.
Friend: What?
Me: Well... Ummmm... (so much hesitation) I'm gay.
Friend: Ohhh. Does that mean you look at boys and think 'oooo yummy' (she made this creepy smiley face)
Me: Well, yeah, I guess.
Friend: OMG tell me who you like in our year! Oh my god, is it ---- ?
Me: :dry:
