So a bit of background. I'm moving out of my current apartment because its an all around shitty situation, and trying to find somewhere new, preferably shared that's close to school.

Does anyone have experience or suggestions for navigating the in's and out's of finding a place with queer friendly roommates? It's a "typical" small New England college town and dominated by cis, white, hetero students so I can't just scroll through the posts and have my pick of "queer friendly etc. ect. roomie wanted" posts. Just trying to figure out how/when to come out to folks and open up that discussion when I'm looking at apartments so I can make sure I'm moving into a safe and respectful place. Ideas/experience?

Does your school have any LGBT groups? You might reach out to them to see if anyone they know is looking for a roommate.

    That's probably your best bet.

Are there any gay magazines or newspapers in your area? Many times they have ad's.
