    Why should people not take the time to prepare to be good parents? It's not fair to the kids, won't anyone think of the kids? No one forced them to be parents or did they? Who else should take the responsibility than the person deciding to become a parent? So yes, it is a person's fault to not do the work to be a good parent.

    I'm glad yours did better than previous generation in your opinion. Mine didn't do much differently but could have learned to do much better. The information has been available in books and from people who study healthy human development for a long time, but let me guess, people think they know better and have catchy phrases they can spout off. Spare the rod, spoil the child, father knows best, etc. Lol, no, that's how we remain stuck in this generational dysfunction and mental health crisis.
