I have a feeling trump has never intended to be president by this point. He probably started out like he did before, trying to use this kind of campaign to boost his own image and ego. But somehow people start to vote for him, and now he freaks out with the possibilities of having to be responsible for a whole nation. So perhaps he is secretly trying to sabotage himself.
His former top campaign manager said something to that effect, too, in her open resignation letter; that she thought he didn't really intend to get this far, that it was more of a "I could have run the country" thing that just got out of hand: Mind you, those are her words, not his, but still, I just thought it was funny that you mentioned that when someone who used to be close to him said the exact same thing.
That's some progress. At the same time, I'm a bit puzzled. But hey, I won't be irrationally shocked anymore if he wins.
I still think anyone who says they support "traditional marriage" over "non-traditional marriage" is homophobic, and depending on the situation, possibly even racist, but besides that Trump isn't horrible on LGBT+ issues... Still, everything he stands for economy-wise is so horrible... I'd much rather have Bernie Sanders for president...
And that is especially alarming, the idea that someone who does not really even want to be president, or at least only wants to win at this point for the sake of winning, may end up leading our country.
I very highly doubt he would be able to win a general election. He just has too many people against him on both sides of the fence. However, he most likely will get the GOP nomination and I hope he does, since 1, it will be a shoe-in for the Democratic nominee, and 2, he is 1000 times better than Ted Cruz, who scares me more than anyone with his extreme views(especially towards LGBT people) and how he wants to turn the US into a theocracy. :eusa_naug
LGBT Republican is an oxymoron, lol. Perhaps he's not pandering directly to us, but voters within the Republican party that have a more liberal view on social issues I would say.
