Doctor Who is surprisingly dark at times! And some episodes trigger my anxiety: (spoiler tags, just in case)
the Library episode with the digital reality; the Silents; and the first episode with Clara Oswald.

I can't wait for Capaldi! I watched some bits of him in The Thick of It and In the Loop and I really liked his acting, although his role was quite vulgar in both.
Oh and while we're at it, I'm having mixed feelings about the 50th episode. I loved it, but:
On one hand, I'm happy that Gallifrey is back, but on the other, it was one of the defining characteristics of the Doctor. How will going back and undoing his biggest regret change him?

It was only one of the defining characteristics of the 9th-11th Doctors. The first 8 weren't part of the Time War, except the 8th, but only right at the end, and he didn't actually do anything until he regenerated into the War Doctor. Now it will probably be more like the classic series. Change is good, and it's the reason Doctor Who has lasted 50 years.

I watched my first episode of DW (NewWho 5x01) right before my first coming out, so Matt has since been 'my' doctor. Im extremely excited for Capaldi but I don't want to let go of my raggedy man :,(

I just got to season 6 and I now am afraid whenever I forget things, along with dual shadows, statues, cafeteria servers (the Ood), plastic, people saying things out of character (they're obviously Sontaran clones), revealing my blood type, Divas (Cassandra), cracks, and exterminators.

    Thank you BBC.

I adore Rose...my favorite companion ever

I do prefer though the first couple series with Hartnell

    oh and Daleks rule...period

I will say I can't stand the entire River Song arc but that's just me

I think she could have been a good character, but series 6 was more like River Who than Doctor Who. And then there's series 7B: Clara Who...

It's the whole "Impossible Girl" thing that took up half a season. IMO, they focused so much on trying to make her mysterious, they forgot to make her an actual person. I wish Moffat wrote characters that were more like Donna. She was very human, with human emotions, etc. Same for Rose and even Martha. Amy was written pretty well, but Clara just seems too perfect, like she isn't even human. That's one thing that I hope changes in season 8.

What I love about Dr Who is that in I'll be laughing uncontrollably, and then I'll feel like crying, and then I'll be so frightened and disturbed I can barely stand to watch. All in one episode!

The episode "Midnight" is one of the creepiest, most horrifying narratives I've ever watched. I made the mistake of watching it after midnight with all the lights off, and so alas, was stuck the whole night debating whether I really, really needed to go to the bathroom or if I could hold out until dawn.

I'm in love with River Song. My kind of woman: sassy, stylish, and with biting humor.

The Silence, in my opinion, are the funniest monsters, not because they are funny in themselves, but rather because it's hilarious watching the characters be frightened out of their wits, then turn away, forget, and say, "Nope, all safe here." Cracks me up Every time...

I have never seen or have heard of this show until recently, but I have seen it on my Netflix. Maybe I should check it out.

I love it! I'm still somewhere at season 4, I believe. It's been a while since I've watched it, but I think I'm going to do some catching up this holiday

Doctor Who is the best TV show ever! I have all the DVDs and soundtracks and I saw Time of the Doctor last night - very emotional.
