Do you prefer to be in a relationship or single?

I really miss having a relationship after 25 years. As much as doing what I want when I want has been fun for a while; it not the same as coming home to someone talking about th the day, curling up and reading in bed, dogs and kids interupting, deciding a G&T with hummus and chips is all you need for supper, picking out new kitchen hardware. I feels so good to belong. There's no one there to make sure you've taken your meds, chide when you had a bit too much to drink, congratuale you over the last 15lbs you lost, compliament the new shirt, or notice the new underwear, cards slipped into you luggage when you travel. That's what's missing when you're not in a relationship.

 

That stuff was missing when I was in my relationship!

I prefer being single than being in a bad relationship. Being single you only have to deal with one person's issues. As a couple you have to deal with two people's issues. I want a good relationship. A bad relationship is hell.

 

My heart and mind want me in a relationship, my wallet and bank account however want me to stay single.

 

A few months ago I would have said "single". But the last few months have made me do a complete 180. I'd rather be in the right relationship than single - but I'd rather be single than be in the wrong one.

 

It really depends. If I had to choose, right now, between being single and being in a relationship, I would choose to be single.

Not because I love being single, of course. But I'm not at a point in my life where I would be able to sustain a healthy, loving, true relationship. I am lonely, yes, but that's not a problem that I expect a relationship to fix. It's a problem that self-love can fix.

The way I see it, I refuse to try loving someone else until I've first learned to love my self. I can't expect to give another person the amount of love they need if I don't even have enough love to sustain myself.

Until I'm perfectly happy and accept myself and who I am as a person on my own, I'd rather be single.

 

Personally, being single is better. But a relationship would be a nice plus if you get along perfectly with your partner!

 

Well honestly I would prob be Better off single bc u know when it's your 3 month anniversary and u didn't get them anything and it's a really big deal when it's not 1 year is a big deal but not 3 months

Single. It's lot more simpler, and right now I'm not ready. Perhaps when I come out a lil' more and sort out other things

 

I'd rather be in a relationship, but right now I prefer single, because I'm moving to another state in 6 months and I wouldn't like to start a relationship in which it can not give the best of me or that it's unlikely that will not end or just to be with someone just for not being single. I think being in a relationship it's great, the feeling, and to have that special someone who to share so many things, but being single it also gives you the opportunity to enjoy that time.

 

I'm that rare bird that manages to be perpetyally single eben when i am in a relationship, so whats the diff?
