    Yikes, reading all these responses and getting nervous. Then I just read an article that a gay guy in Philly was murdered using gxxxxr. Maybe the bar scene is better.

    Sticking to the bar scene will not make you any more or less safe.

    If safety is your concern (and it should always be your concern) you need to follow sensible precautions and not get carried away on first or second dates.
