    If they want to exercise their religious freedom while being paid by the taxpayers, by all means resign. Gay and lesbian couples have a constitutional right to marry, and that can't be stopped because a county clerk thinks it's "icky". Either do your job or find someone who will do it for you.

    I like how she said that they have read the SCOTUS ruling but then said that the clerk could exercise her religious freedom as a christian, completely ignoring national law.

    Yeah... The county clerk could actually get into some deep trouble for this.

    It's already law the moment SCOTUS ruled in favor for gay-marriage; nobody from any of the states can really do anything against it. And on the nearly impossible idea that they can; a lot of people will be pissed off, and hell would break loose.

    How difficult is it to understand that religion ( if you have one) is something to do in your own time. Leave your "beliefs" at the door when you step into the workplace.... unless of course your workplace is a temple/church/mosque/synagogue etc
