Coincidence or Fetish?!

Hrm...good question, being Asian myself, I'm not sure . But that's mostly because i'm not out yet to my family. I would THINK they would prefer it being the same ethnicity, but even still, they're probably going to freak at first and the aftershock last for quite a while or don't know what to do and go through a process of loss blah blah...

My family is quite "open" i would say, but somethings are just...meh. I doubt they would stop me if i did date someone that is different.

Well, my family is still at the stage of "ok ok we get it ur gay, we won't say anything about girls or grand kids anymore but please don't date men."

You couldn't have put it better. (*hug*) Thanks for helping me out. I'm glad to know I don't have an unhealthy obsession with Asian guys.

If you (people in general) read my original post, I didn't actually say I had an 'Asian fetish'. I asked if that my history with crushing on Asian guys classes as one - so I'm sorry if I've offended people. I live in the UK, and the Asian community at my University seems diverse in itself - some are British nationals of Asian descent and some are from Asian countries studying internationally. I've just found that the guys I've been attracted to have very good dress sense -- they look smart and clean cut.

To that, I hope not. I have heard that before but if I end up dating an Asian guy, that last thing I want him to feel is pressured or uncomfortable that he has a White, British boyfriend...

Is that a broad statement as in all Asian cultures? Or just some specific ones...e.g. only Chinese, only Korean, only Japanese etc.
