    Finished listening to Schumann's Op. 47, Piano Quartet a little while ago. And a recording featuring Glenn Gould with members of the Juilliard Quartet to boot. Damn, how did he write so much excellent music? ;___;

  4. Love Glenn Gould!I love the Schumann Piano Concerto as well as Kinderszenen. Gould-Bach's Goldberg Variations-freaking amazing. Les Adieux by Beethoven(one of his piano sonatas)-love it!

    Not out at all

    Always asked myself what Antonio would do with an electric guitar. I also wanted to post CPE Bach's Solfeggietto, but I could find one in the tempo I wanted.

    I'm a big baroque fan, I'll enjoy this thread.

    I just love Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf, and Romeo and Juliet. They're just amazing. Also this set of twelve pieces by Tchaikovsky, one for each month. I forget what it's called but it's really cool.

    I also really really like the entire suite Pictures at an Exhibition by Mussorgsky. It's insane!

  7. Yeah, those are pretty cool.Peter and the wolf-characters are depicted by the instruments so well!!

    After wandering aimlessly in my music choices the last few days, think I may be drifting into Brahms for some reason.... Another attempt to really get into his music, as the last couple kind of stopped short after sometime. First up, Symphony No. 1 in C minor [first listening.] Am almost finished with the second movement and am enjoying it so far.

    While I seem to have a 'love-hate' relationship with his music, including the present attempt, have to say he may be slowly growing on me overall. As of today, mainly revisited some works such as Symphonies Nos. 3 and 4 [on the latter currently,] and Piano Quartet No. 3. Also listened to the first piano quartet not too long ago and quite liked it.

  14. Brahms...I just can't get enough of the first movement of the first Piano Concerto...Its just amazing.

    Hey classic freaks:grin:
    I'm searching for a new piece to play and just thought I'd try and ask you:
    do you know a piece that's similar to Chopins raindrops?
    But not more difficult than Chopins?:slight_smile:

    Thank you!!! That sounds quite good!
    But I think it's a bit heavier than Raindrops, isn't it?:grin:

    Well, Raindrops gets kinda heavy in the B section, just like this one.

    Here's another possibility (pretty famous one, at that) if you want something more consistently tranquil:

    Sounds also great but a bit boring:slight_smile: Thanks for your help!:slight_smile:
