Yes, I also remember some of these. I especially remember a spinner that spins in the wind that was supposed to be placed on a bicycle handlebar, but I don't remember which cereal it came from. I also remember getting prizes from boxes of Cracker Jacks. I wonder if they still put prizes in them. Thanks for sharing this!
We don’t have most of those cereals in Ireland but our cereals did have prizes. You could even get a Kellogg bowl but you had to send off for that. Some cereals had CDs in them. Horrible Histories CDs mostly. You could get plastic spoons in another cereal. We had a few but they weren’t that great, my siblings and I weren’t that adventurous with cereals anyway so if it wasn’t in Kelloggs Rice Krispies or Coco Pops we didn’t have it.
Not quite in the cereal box, but there was a form or something on the carton to send off. I think it was one of the popular General Mills cereals. There was a small boat that had a propeller. I told my parents I really wanted it. It was battery operated. It arrived and I was so happy. I put the batteries in. It worked in the bathtub. Barely. Some family friends had a pool and I brought it along. It wasn't made for a pool and kept tipping over. Like it is with most toys, I lost interest in it.
