Agatha Christie fan here :icon_bigg! Her books are amazing, although in some of them I noticed she repeated patterns and I could work out the solution. The one I liked the most was 'And Then There Were None'. So fucking scary!

To the OP, other books that are great:

    * 'The Catcher in the Rye' (J.D.Salinger)
    * 'Lord of the Flies' (William Golding)
    * 'The Picture of Dorian Gray' (Oscar Wilde)

You and I have very similar tastes in books! 'And Then There Were None' is my most favorite mystery book ever! I also second 'Lord of the Flies' and 'The Picture of Dorian Gray.' For Sci-Fi, I recommend pretty much anything from Ray Bradbury. Especially 'The Illustrated Man.' ^_^

mmm....not really sure on the genre here, but everyone I know has loved reading Philip Pullman's Dark materials trilogy (Northern lights, subtle knife, the amber spyglass)....awesome books.

If you're into fantasy then Terry pratchetts books are worth a read.

If you're after more serious but equally amazing books, Hussain Khaled's "the kite runner" and "a thousand splendid suns" are brilliant and actually quite educational.

Oh, good ones, all of them. Pullman and Pratchett. In the States the first Pullman book is "The Golden Compass" and is also a movie, which makes me depressed that they aren't going to finish the series, too atheist for the Christians and too god-fearing for the atheists, up set the whole lot of em. Either way good books, I really enjoyed The Chronicles of Narnia, the first two Christopher Rice books, the third one was ok, but my least favorite of the three I've read. I'm currently reading Good Omens, by Pratchett and Gainman. Hilarious. The Life of Pi is quite an interesting read, good though. Lamb by Christopher Moore, again hilarious. I've heard the Artimis Fowl series is decent, I haven't gotten around to reading it though.

I read them a long time ago, but I do remember enjoying the first three Artemis Fowl books. Holly, Artemis, Butler and Foaly are fun characters. ^^

I LOVE Catcher in the Rye. It's definitely one of my faves. Curious Incident is also great.

I've been told to read the Vampire Chronicles by someone who I have pretty much everything in common with, and because it is her favourite book of all time, I'm fairly certain that it will become mine too.

My book list is endless, but here is my recommendation for you. It is a little piece of realistic fiction and deals with many issues people encounter growing up:

"A Girl, in Parts" by Jasmine Paul

If you'd like to check a little bit of it first, Google books has a preview available:

    A Girl, in Parts
