    I have for the longest time, been biting my nails and the skin on my finger tips, its really an issue, i have even tried the stuff you put on your nails to make them taste awful, but still, i just keep on biting them +_+

    I'm a terrible nail biter. For me, it's a dislike of of rough/sharp edges on the nail that leads me to bite. Have managed to stop a few times, but always start again.

    Since I was five. I don't like it but it's really hard to stop. The longest I went without biting was four months but I got sick of having to constantly file them.

    I've had a nail biting problem since I was little, I mainly got it from my parents who do the same thing.

    I bite my nails all the time. -.-
    Like with Kasey, it's a nervous thing for me as well. I've been trying forever to try and stop but nothing has worked. The only thing that was worked for longer then a week is whenever I felt like biting or picking my nails I would pick the skin of my thumb. But after a couple days I realised I was drawing blood and it was hurting more then when I made my nails bleed so I had to stop that idea.

    Does anyone else want to offer their advice on how to stop biting their nails? :slight_smile:

    I used to bite mine as a sort of nervous tick. After getting into nail care and polish I'm much more aware of it now so I've stopped the habit. Huzzah.

    I'm 51. Two and a half years ago I had to buy my first ever set of nail clippers because for the first time in my life I stopped biting my nails. It was very weird, I realised thatmy nails had become really long ( for me). I had no idea how quickly they grow .

    My nails grow really long, probably for two reasons:
    1) I don't bite them unless they're broken
    2) They're really strong and have broken multiple pairs of nail clippers

    I think I could live with biting them since it might help the whole length problem.
