I was trying to figure out a way to make my voice a bit more feminine. I've always had a pretty high voice but to me it just doesn't sound like the voice I want it to. Any tips or videos or something to help me start training my voice to sound more feminine?

I think there's tutorials on Youtube that can help with vocal training. I don't know any videos off the top of my head though, sorry.

No worries. At least that gives Marshmallow and I a place to start

I know that AJ from tsroadmap.com has made a video series detailing how to do it, but there is a multitude of different ways to do so. I've heard of all sorts of ways to do so: speaking in your falsetto voice for a week to tighten your larynx, make a habit of having a good high range posture or mimic-ing Alto or Soprano singers in songs. There really is no right or wrong way to do so, you simply need to be consistent and driven to improve like all things!

A trick I have found lately that works wonders is to practice squeezing your voice box (making a soft "ng" sound) while I yawn. You don't have to make any noise but when you breath out it should sound a little softer and more feminine. If I do that a few times before I talk to people I don't do that thing where my voice inadvertently drops around them.

I find that it helps slightly when you speak from the top of your throat, if you get what I mean. Maybe the voice box vibrates less..?

It does a little bit. Maybe with practice I can get it to sound less, I don't know, robotic?

Perhaps. Add a little imagination and it might just work
    Just don't do that with a cough/phlegm/sore throat. >.<

Try singing. I have a husky low-ish speaking voice but in singing, I can get down to a low tenor and up to high alto. I've noticed that if I go lower, it often takes a while for me to bounce back to a softer voice so, hypothetically, it could work in reverse.

make sure not to strain your voice, though, because then you definitely won't have a higher voice. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I actually am planning on getting a couple CD's today that I can sing along with. Paramore and Pink are my two top picks but I'm open to other suggestions as well

Lenka's a good artist to sing along to.

Not sure how much it'll help. Just saying. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
