So I had a bunch of friends over for a sleepover and at one point there were about 12 of us, it was pretty sweet. Unfortunately, the 5 that I have known the longest couldn't stay for the night and just came for the evening. I've known the others though for at least a year and a half. Two of the five people who slept over already knew that I'm gay (Allison and Emma, Emma was asleep the whole time though). Brenna who was also there is so open minded and supportive of anyone who's lbtg and is basically heteroflexible. Miranda was also there, she's a kid I've known since grade 2 but never really liked, she's gotten better, but... And there's Amy who I've known for a while because of soccer but didn't really ever hang out with much until high school. At like, three in the morning, they start talking about who they like and I said that I really like low woodwind players (we are all such band geeks, lol) and of course they all start guessing (except Allison who already know who I like). There are only two guys who are low woodwinds in our band so their options ran out quite quickly. Brenna asks, is it actually a guy? which I respond to with a non-committal negative-ish noise thing (do any of you know what I mean? probably not... oh well) It was great because she replied with, but you're not bi, are you? I of course said no, I'm not bi. She then proceeded to ask me if I like this guy who plays tenor which isn't really a low woodwind but almost. Allison comments on her failed logic. Brenna finally realized that I'm gay, it was really funny actually but she knows I'm a Mennonite so she was a little confused. What was weird though was when Miranda said, didn't you know? I was like, how did you know?!? (I rarely talk to her, when I do it's always around other people which is why I felt obligated to invite her) She then said something along the lines of, I've known you since grade 2. Apparently she know I was gay, I don't know how, other friends I've known longer and better had no idea, she's the first person who actually saw it coming. Oh well. SO that was my amazing sleepover story! I love my friends!!! (I am writing this on only 3 hours of sleep, I hope it's comprehensible.)
Yay! Coming out and low woodwinds! Is there not a more perfect combination? I play bassoon and congrats.
Thanks everyone! I love the bassoon!!! If I were to play a woodwind, that would be it, and the bari sax, I play fr horn and t-bone (the two worse in terms of possible innuendo, lol).
