    Try one of the smaller towns like Yakama. I'm a proud North-Wester myself.

    Oregon's also really good too. But if you're worried about the housing prices, stay out of Portland and try somewhere like Salem (not a lot to do in Salem to be honest) or Beaverton. Just stay out of the Eastern part. It's basically Idaho but without the potatoes and no one sane should live in Idaho.
