I am a very spiritual person. I have believed in God all my life. As I have grown older, I took the word of the bible less seriously. I live my life following the Ten Commandments as best as I can. I hate lying, but it has its place...to protect myself or the people I love.

I live my life by Gods' greatest commandment...love each other. I do not tolerate disrespect, ignoramuses or hateful people.

I am a very devout follower of Christ, and take the Bible very seriously, but NOT as it reads.

What I mean by this is that I believe the Bible is infallible, but not inerrant. another way to say this is this is that the bible is a perfect guide to salvation, but there are still errors in it. The bible was written by man, not God. It was divinely inspired, not divinely written. With modern translations these errors are even worse (note, I'm defining anything past the life of John as a modern translation, but the farther we get, the worse it gets)

The errors range from historical inaccuracies (for example one place in the old testament refers to an army of 100,000 Persians, even though reliable archaeology says a fighting force this size wouldn't be assembled for 300 years) or in other cases it has to do with interpretation-- lgbt stuff being the most recognizable example of an error in interpretation, but another big one is the idea that people are tormented forever in hellfire. I believe in hellfire, but it will not be forever.

I don't know whether or not I believe in God, but I can tell you that I do not follow the teachings of any organized religions or believe in any religious books, and it definitely goes beyond the fact that I'm LGBT. Although I was in a Catholic school for my middle school years and it was pretty damaging to my little queer questioning self, studying the bible left me with more questions than answered and religion just no longer makes sense to me.

I do believe in God and I believe God loves everyone, regardless of who they are. I believe that sins are acts that harm others and that sins don't stop God from loving us or make him abandon us. They make us human. Whether homosexuality is a sin or not doesn't really matter because we all sin. God loves us regardless of our sins and I think he cares mostly about our hearts and how we treat people, not about how much we sin.

Okay I know I'm getting ahead of myself here. I'm not religious really. I learn towards being agnostic.

I noticed this question comes up a lot here on this forum, irony of ironies. It's always so awkward for me to answer this, because I grew up confused about religion. My family is mixed faith: Muslim and Christian. I'm from the Muslim side, but I grew up with a lot of influence from the Christian side. I went to a church with my mom, sisters, an uncle and his kids, and a mosque with my dad. My dad used to be hostile to all things non-Islamic, but nowadays he seems fine with atleast just Christians. He's seemingly ignorant of other religions, I guess, I don't know, I can't read his mind LOL. So yeah, basically I memorized the Quran along with bible verses, yup. But I always found the bible more interesting per se, because of the stories, I also noticed a lot of those same stories were told in the qur'an but with slight differences here and there, for example in the Qur'an it was the pharoah's wife who saved baby Moses, not his daughter, and Abraham was tested with Ishmael instead of Isaac, like in the bible. For awhile I found Christianity more interesting, and then for another while it was Islam, it went on and off.

And then around age 12, I started to wonder about other religions, like Buddhism, and Hinduism, different pagan religions, and even Judaism. I think Judaism stuck the most with me as making sense, and to this day it still seems like a very logically sound religion to me. Of course, there is atheism which is the belief that there is no God, and just that, for awhile when I got mad at my parents for asking why I barely do anything religious, I considered my self an atheist, but to be honest I was just being rebellious. I don't think I'll ever consider myself a true atheist, there's always that "what if..."

Blah, blah, blah, so what do I believe now? Well I don't follow any particular religion, but if there's something in the Quran, bible, or bhagabad Gita, or Marcus Aurelius' meditations, that's morally sound, I agree with it. I still believe in God, just not sure which interpretation of God I like the most, or which religion answers all my questions to satisfactory, but at the moment it's definately not Islam or the alcoran....

So yeah, I believe in God. What do I believe about God? A lot of different things, let's keep it short. I believe God is different from gods like Odin, and Zeus because those a statues and obviously modelled after humans behaviour. I believe he/she/it loves us unconditionally, and always will. A lot of people believe those things too, so I guess I'm not so unique...

I'm Catholic, and I personally believe that God made us the way we are, and if he made us like this, it only makes since that he supports us. I believe that he accepts everyone for who they are.

    hi,

i'm from a muslim household. ever since i was young my parents have been fairly religious. i'm now 19 and we've never discussed homosexuality. i'm not very close with my dad so we haven't had much discussions or debates in general. but with my mum, she shows her despise towards same-sex couples whilst watching television (comments such as eww). i've read the quran, of course there's many who say Islam doesn't completely teach hatred towards LGBTQ+ but the problem for me is the contradictions. right now im in a position where i don't identify as a muslim anymore. i want to believe in a God but just not in a specific religion. I haven't come out to my family and i don't think i will. idk if my family are capable in kicking me out though... i guess im scared to find out.

all my experiences with religion are negative and I dont like it. The way I see it, is that is mostly/only brings negative things.
