Are labels important to you?

    For me, it's one of those things that I wish didn't matter to me...but I can't deny that it does. I think it's the whole idea of "oh, there's a name for it, I'm not the only one!", it helps you feel more like part of a group. I totally understand why some people reject labels though.

    Labels aren't a problem. It's when people use them to define me that's an issue.

    Like, me being referred to as "Gay BFF" like I was referred as the other night upsets me. Why does gay have to be there? Why am I not just your best friend? Why can't gay just be an inconsequential aspect of me?
