Can I ask a quick question.

What's the difference between being shallow and having a type?

Yes. If someone's "type" is purely based on physical appearence, and is all that a person considers when looking for a potential partner, then there is no difference. But a "type" doesn't have to be just that.

    But yeah

    back on topic.

I think anyone's capable of being shallow.

I think everyone is a lil shallow. We all have certain asthetics we prefer, and I don't know anyone who'd complain about their partner having cash.

    M:" Hey lovely quote"
    H:"Thx!"
    M:"What does it mean?"
    H:"idk lol it sounds nice"
    ...............:eusa_doh:
It could've been a great conversation starter!

yes an entire group consisting of thousands of millions of completely different people can easily be generalized into one thing

Gay guys can be shallow just like straight guys can be. Being gay does not means one would be shallow.

    I think MANY can be.

I don't care if someone is a little shallow in who and what they find attractive. But when that flakiness extends into their reliability as friends, I find the shallowness to be a big problem and many appear to wired that way - from the top of the A-list to those who have gone off the grid. Once that surfaces, I am gone, as in "See ya, wouldn't want to be ya."

Are you seriously trying to lump gay men together? Isn't that what we have had to deal with from the straight world forever. Generalizations like this are never correct and do more harm then good

I think they are observations more so than they are generalizations. Are heterosexual men intrigued by posters and photos of Marilyn Monroe? No, though they might fancy having had sex with her. Are gay men intrigued by posters and photos of Marilyn Monroe? I'd say most of the men who have this obsession with Marilyn Monroe are gay, or bi.

I'd look at it that way. I don't see the harm. The topics of shallowness and dispensability are heavily discussed among gay men, in the literature, and among those who study human sexuality.
