So I have to ask what you think about Wikipedia. Do you enjoy editing things on Wikipedia just for laughs? And if you do, what did you do to the page?

For me? I changed the page about domestic partnerships in Maine.

Here's how it looked previously: On May 6, 2009, Maine's legislature and governor enacted a law to allow same-sex marriage in Maine. The law was subsequently repealed by voters on November 3, 2009.

Now I've made it: On May 6, 2009, Maine's legislature and governor enacted a law to allow same-sex marriage in Maine. The law was subsequently repealed by bigoted, idiotic voters on November 3, 2009.

    Share your amusements.

Oh no, I edit purely for educational or informative reasons on subjects I KNOW about- like X-Men...I am always editing the shit out of those articles LOL! But I did however write some amusing comments under the Angelina Jolie article- it was something like "Jennifer Aniston's movie 'Marley and Me' beat 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button' it their debut weekend. Brad Pitt cheated on his then current wife Jennifer Aniston with Angelina Jolie while on the set of "Mr. and Mrs. Black". LOL! It stayed for like a day before it was erased. It wasn't vandalism- it was the truth! Pitt cheated on Aniston on set! LOL! I don't like any three of them but I thought it was funny that Aniston, who I consider the victim in all of this Brangelina nonsense, got the last laugh when her film beat her superstar ex's.

when i was doing my A-level geography coursework,i went onto wiki to look up something about the town i was doing it on. My friend was also doing it on this same town, so im fairly sure it was he who did edited the page.

Anyway i was reading the history section and it proceded as normal.

Then out of nowhere the last line was 'In 2009 Llandudno was destroyed by Godzilla'

    It made ma laugh

    i LOVE the wikipedia game!!!

(^ ^ well... when you are bored on the school computers and every slightly amusing website is blocked)

for those of you who dont know how it works:

get a couple of friends together and sit at nearby computers. everyone is to agree upon a common target page, the weirder or less common, the better. everyone is then to click on 'random article' and you must race each other to the target page by only clicking on the blue hyperlinks on that page and not using the back button.

    good fun

My version of the Wikipedia game is to click Random Article, then see how many clicks it takes to get to a page about sex.

Someone at boarding school, who did not like me, made a page about me.....

It was devoted to calling me an excessively wealthy and evil Dark Jedi/Sith Lord, Axe-murderer who uses a hit-list using targets with numbers and the Creator of Scientology.....

Needless to say that it was destroyed within the week.....

haha, i'm one of the nerds who will vehemently defend the NPOV status of wikipedia. I've written a few articles for it... on cricket, snooker, and physics, of all things lol

But yeah, wikipedia is awesome. If you want the funny (AND still wiki-friendly!) side, check this out! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_unusual_topics

Heh, I remember for awhile that Henry Ford's (founder of the Ford Motor Company) parents were listed as "Flava Flave" and "Dee-Licious." I don't know who did it, but it was like that for several months.

I remember reading about Martha Stewart once.
The page stated that she was born in 1775, and raised by wolves.
    I smiled.

I got a kick out of the wars that broke out on the breaking dawn page when the book came out. twihards were editing out anything from the book that made it seem perverse or inappropriate... which was silly, cause thats all breaking dawn was.

Then they finally protected the page.

Hmmm, you can all do whatever you like away from EC, but using this site to boast about the vandalism you inflict on wikipedia (regardless of how long it took to be changed back again) isn't something that is going to be allowed on here.

We're a support forum that specialises in coming out resources. It isn't good for the sites reputation if people access this site and the first thing they see are various members exchanging stories about how they cause havoc on other sites like wikipedia.
