Hello, I’m writing because I feel very alone. All my friends have left me in real life not my EC friends. Also for those that don’t know my mom has stage 4 lung cancer. She had it for a little over a year now. We got some bad news today that the current chemo is not working. The dr’s are looking for a new chemo that she can try, it will be her 4th treatment. The Dr’s also said they are running out of options. My mom is my best friend and the only one I have in life and the only one that understands me. I am so unbelievably alone and sad. Thank you for having this group, I don’t know what I would do without it!!

Rainbow100.....Always remember that we are here for you. Losing someone close is terribly, but losing a parent is by far the worst. Please let us lend you a shoulder when you need it and don't forget that you are part of our LGBTQ family and we do care. **Hugs**

Thank you very much!! That’s a very sweet message and exactly what I needed tonight. I love my LGBTQ family. I’m always here for anyone, just as everyone has always been there for me!

@Rainbow100, I'm really sorry about your mom. A good friend of mine that I met in my first job had been a teenager when he lost his father. My friend often spoke of feeling his father's presence. I hope you will soak up your mom's presence while you can, and carry that with you always.
I'm sending you vibes of compassion and caring.

Thank you very much!! I’m definitely feeling everyone’s good vibes tonight. I believe in the feeling of presence. I once read that Cardinals will come close to you. They come when things are good and bad. The cardinals are thought to be a passing of a loved one who is visiting. My mom lost her father when she was 16. So I feel that’s him coming to visit. The moment my mom got told she had cancer, We have so many cardinals everyday. So yes, I will soak up every minute with her and then look for 2 cardinals instead of one.

Are you getting any support from any agencys? I feel you should do if not. I know personally I would need support if I was in your situation. My mum has chronic COPD so I have only a little understanding of what it must be like.

Hello, I’m not quit sure what you mean by agency’s. But I’m thinking you may be talking about a therapist. If so, Yes I have a therapist that I see. I’m sorry to hear about your mom! I’m always here if you need to talk.

    Hello
In the UK we have cancer organisations that can support family members who are caring for a loved one. Just wanted to check you are supported as I'm sure it's really tough.
Therapist is also a great path to go down and you can openly talk with therapist about your concerns and views.
Yes I saw my counselling lady today and we talked about my mum's illness and my coming out journey.

Hello, It seems like where both going down the same path. I came out when I was 28. But I feel like I’m starting over again. I’m finally getting more involved in the community and accepting myself. I wish you the best in your journey!
