Two famous great people dead. In the same week. At the age of 69. From cancer.
    Isn't 2016 off to a great start?

In all seriousness though, it was very sad to find this out. I haven't seen many of his films but he was terrific in Love Actually and Harry Potter and I'll certainly watch more of his work now. He was truly one of the greats of British film and he will be sorely missed. Always.

    Rest in peace.

I actually teared up when I heard. I've never teared up over the death of a celebrity.

Oh no. Why are all of the coolest artists dying these days?
First Lemmy, then Bowie and now Alan.
    RIP

I'm actually devastated, he was my childhood hero in a way, so witty and brilliant :frowning2: I loved him as Snape... what's with the 69-age death this week?

First David Bowie, now the genius of Alan Rickman follows

I hate the last couple of years. It started with Robin Williams, then Christopher Lee, then Lemmy Kilmister, David Bowie and now Rickman--who's next? Ian McKellen? Patrick Stewart?

It seems like an entire generation of excellent artists are on their final stretch and it really pains me.

He had a voice like butter, I could listen for hours to his sensual purrs.

He was pretty much the white Morgan Freeman, just saying!

    RIP.

It's nice to think he's in heaven, sitting on a beach earning 20% and calling off Christmas.
