For me, tonight is Christmas Eve and on that night my family likes to let me and my siblings open up our gifts from our grandparents, specifically my Swedish grandmother. I have known that if you are the same gender as your sibling, you are likely to get the same thing from your grandparents as your sister/brother/sibling got. I looked at what my sisters got as I carefully unwrapped mine and they both pulled out different colored sweaters with the same "FRIDAY" word printed on it in bold. I knew it was a feminine piece of clothing which meant it was form-fitting and I was rather disappointed if that was going to be my gift. BUT. I unwrapped mine and pulled out a fine red and blue, plaid, long-sleeved shirt from Sweden! It made me so, so happy that my grandmother remembered (or maybe my dad told her) that I prefer masculine/androgynous clothing! I was so happy that she remembered, oh my goodness.. )) I will wear it tomorrow. I just wanted this to exist somewhere so I could look at it again. It made me happy.
