    This stuff is so important.

    Someone once said something to me which really sunk in, it was something like: You can be sure that life will throw things at you that are difficult to deal with. So to make yourself more capable of dealing with that, you should voluntarily take on difficult tasks. Life is a struggle, so if you try and insulate yourself from it, then when something hard eventually occurs you will struggle even more. If you voluntarily struggle, you will build resilience in yourself and be more capable of dealing with the involuntary struggles.

    Something like that - the way they said it sounded a lot better, but it stuck with me.
