Me! I'm pretty out to closer and further friends and some social circles. Working out coming out to my family.
Welcome to EC. Many of us here are in our 30s and just coming out. You will find a warm and supportive community here. Feel free to share your story (if you want) and read through the posts of other members. You will likely find a lot of stories that resonate with you.
I'm your age and just came out as gay to my immediate family and friends in the last month.
So far, all are supportive.I was still nervous, but glad it was unwarranted.
I'm in therapy to help me cope with the paradigm shift from straight to gay identity, it's helping.
I'm getting evolved in an lgbt group by me. They have been quit welcoming. I'm going to the first gathering next week.
Nearly 33 and cone out today to the rest of my work colleagues they took it OK and said they knew I asked if one of my work friends who knows had told them they said no it was because I'd also look at ladies if one of the guys pointed a nice looking one out, plus sometimes I'd point out a beautiful lady to them
37 and out to most people around me. Once my divorce is final, I will be out to everyone. It is exciting and terrifying at the same time!
I've just come out as gay at 32.
Feels liberating. Much happier now!!!
39 here and coming out as trans. I came out as bi in 1997.
Since I came out both as bi and trans, one thing is certain LGB coming out out is much more easier than T coming out.
You will get better responses regarding coming out etc. in the Gender subforum.
39, and having just accepted that I am gay myself after much turmoil, I am starting to put my mind to coming out.
37 and coming out
44 and coming out... first to myself, next to my husband, and finally to some friends. It's a journey, for sure. If you're struggling, know it can get better. Welcome to EC!
Im 31. Im properly out to maybe 9 people? Working on it. Still pretty nervous about coming out to any family members.
32, slowly coming out!
Hi, I'm in my 40's, out to myself and one friend.
Family are very homophobic - meaning parents and sister, they've been bad enough about changing my name after my divorce.
Feel very aware of homophobic attitudes around me.
