Still sick and coughing, but I'm having too much fun with writing my book and communicating with others to even focus on any of my homework. I have so much to do, but I will manage.

    Feel better soon!

I'm having problems getting my tachycardia and my QT Interval under control, so my doc is changing my medications - AGAIN - and I'm getting my magnesium levels checked, if there's an imbalance in my upcoming blood work - then I'll be off to the cardiac care unit in our area. Here's hoping we can get things fixed ASAP. Tachycardia is the pits.

In other news - good news! - I love my injury care specialist. I got the occipital nerve blocks this week, and except for the injection points being tender, I'm pain free back there. Bliss!

My new glasses are on the way. I can't wait to show them off to my fans, followers, family and friends via Facebook and other sites. They're so cute.

    Ain't that the truth.

There is something so nice about physical pictures. Getting Summer 2023 archived a way. What a great summer filled with new experiences.

Awful dream today. Saw that I didn't get the job at the interview, because I was discriminated over my looks and weight. I don't even have really a problem with my weight currently or applying interviews, because I'm focusing on my studies and student benefits help a lot. I'm just not too healthy to even try to exercise, but I walk a lot or maybe I have a problem and this is why I saw that dream. Maybe it's my body dysmorphia.

I think my mother is fat shaming me and she insists she’s not. I keep asking her to stop talking about my weight, I know I’m overweight and I don’t need her constantly telling me I need to lose weight. She used to be overweight too and the only reason she lost it was because she was sick. My sister is also overweight but my mother doesn’t comment on her. Is weight genetic?

There's a genetic element to it for sure. But I don't think the nutritional information we're given on how to eat healthily is appropriate for most people - if it were, we wouldn't have such an obesity crisis. Your mum probably just wants the best for you and to help but doesn't know how to help.

While I agree with you, I’d also add that there’s a problem of ultra-processed foods, which are created for taste, not nutrition, which don’t do a service to our bodies.

Yeah, if it comes in a packet and has a list of ingredients, it probably shouldn't be consumed regularly or maybe even at all by anybody who is looking to lose fat. I have no idea what all those chemicals do to the body, maybe nothing bad, but if I don't know I would rather avoid. I know my body performs just fine without them.

My modest knowledge in chemistry mostly concerns other type of substances, but when it comes to food monosodium glutamate is a big issue. It is used as a flavour enhancing agent, but according to some studies, it also has addictive properties, which combined with excessive salt and sugars in processed foods can result in overconsumption. It activates pleasure centres in one’s brain, making the food seem tastier than it is and at the same time, less satiating, promoting increased feelings of hunger, which can hard to satisfy by foods that don’t contain it.
It’s still quite a disputed topic among specialists, but IMHO, it’s nasty stuff either way.

I think Chinese food always has MSG in it. But really, anything with carbs and fats mixed together is potentially addictive and will likely drive excess consumption, its a combination rarely found in nature. You don't see people overeating when food choice is restricted to whole foods.

Understatement. I was told to avoid processed crap as much as possible, and buy ingredients to make my own meals, which I can prepare and freeze ahead of time for those days when I've been working all day. Working from home and being self employed has its advantages. Processed stuff is 90%+ empty calories and no real benefit to anyone.

In other news, I got my new, updated glasses, they are so cute and suit me perfectly! I'm also back on a medication I should have never gone off of, but my husband was constantly whining about me having to take it every so many hours, which disrupted his sleep, and I got sick of him being a baby about it, so I went off of it a year ago. Nothing else worked, so I'm back on it, after putting him in his place - would he rather me be depressed and sick, possibly dying, because I was on stuff that didn't work but kept him happy, or would he prefer I'm on stuff that WORKS and we only wake up for a few minutes - long enough for me to take a pill - and me be around a lot longer? He shut up, fast. The best news is that the 24 hour version of the pill is back and I'm going on that instead of the 6 hour stuff. I'm going to feel great, and SLEEP too. I'm so happy about that!

It's 18 C outside, and so pretty. I may go for a walk later, or dig out the leggings and do some light aerobics. I gained a few pounds over the summer, it's time to get that extra garbage off of my body and get back into a smaller size jeans and t-shirt again! Go me!

Home made is always best:thumbsup: it to mention you know exactly what you’ve put inside the dish.

Glad to hear things have been going well for you

There is this tingling warm sensation within me when people say they like my writings. It makes me want to write even more and become even better at it.

Your English is really good, I see more spelling and grammar errors from my English friends. @Keller too. Very impressive. I never managed to become fluent in a second language.

Thank you. English is like a second home language to me, first is Estonian. I studied English since kindergarten by watching English cartoons a lot. I do make a lot of silly errors though, so I'm not perfect at it at all.
