It makes me wonder if we're not using the "like" function as intended or we're just the most supportive and fun group on EC

Oh good god. We have the same thought pattern. I am not kidding you, this is how I think. Yes, it's melodramatic. In fact, after I 'crossed the line' with my friend I thought, the universe had finally let me experience this, and now I'm going to die. So, ok, it's not the healthiest thought process. But at least we can laugh about it!!

@Lego Welcome. And as was said no need to be a lurker, just join right in. Just be prepared for tangents and spin-off conversations aplenty. If you have read through you can see that it all goes from on-topic into a sudden turn to bandying about the virtues of Jo from Facts of Life for five pages.

Wow-we are famous! Does this notoriety come with a cash prize at all?:money_mouth: @silverhalo you have racked up some SERIOUS messages. Impressive.

Agreed! Rock on ladies, rock on :metal:

I am playing catch up this afternoon. So don't mind me...

I am so jealous you are seeing the Con X show! I tried to get tickets to see them in Chicago thinking I could use it as an excuse to go home but no luck. I love Sara as well, but Tegan's personality just makes me weak.

@Lego welcome and don't mind us of we get a little side tracked!

And did I miss it, or did no one post a picture of Ruby Rose? For shame ladies!

There is a girl I work with who reminds me of a red headed version of Ruby Rose. I totally have a crush on that girl because of that. Really looking forward to Pitch Perfect 3 in a few months.

Side note momentary hijack: Do any of you guys have a blog on this site? I'm thinking this might be right up my alley--I'm wordy, can't edit--a personal blog might be just the stream of consciousness format I need!

    End of hijack. Carry-on!

I had a blog on here before the upgrade but for the life of me, I can't find it. It might not have migrated yet. Nothing deep. Just fooling around with fiction. NB. You can't edit blog posts. Or you couldn't before so maybe test it first.

Is this a common thought process? Because I thought the EXACT same thing.

I don't know! But I think when you are hiding something from yourself for your entire life, when it comes to fruition, that thing you want so badly, it's human nature to think it will be taken away.

Finally sat down and read this thread. You all are very entertaining. I can't believe L ended up being straight, I totally would have pegged her as liking chicks. Rjay you need your own Netflix show or something.

I like tattoos but am too chicken to actually get one. I did the piercings when I was younger but had to take them all out when I joined the military.

You all are very attractive. I got brave and posted some pictures, they are awaiting approval.

You all are amazing...you don't even know...
So, I found Rjay's original thread because I've had a 'crush' on a straight friend for about a year now. I was so desperate and at a loss about what to do, I just googled 'how to deal with a crush on a straight friend' and somehow ended up here at EC. I'm so grateful. In the week or two I've been 'lurking' with you all, seeing you talk about straight woman feelings, crushes, and coming into the realization that you love women, I've ended my relationship of 10+ years, and am ready to start the next chapter of my life. You all are so brave and amazing and I'm honored to have found this...
I am thinking about starting my own thread, we'll see.... I'll just say, I'm AT my crush's house right NOW, 'sleeping' on the couch. It's beautiful and torture all at the same time. I know you understand...
I'm gay, no doubt. I've been with several women, and it's the most amazing, intense, complex, and beautiful experiences of this life. Those of you who are new to this, you are in for a treat.
Thank you for the unintentional support and courage you've given me!
