This seems sort of accurate, as i do try to dress as feminine as possible, and haven't started hormones or had any surgerries (yet, as i hopefully will soon). Although my physical appearance hasn't changed yet (other then the clothes i wear, and how i have my hair etc). But overall quite accurate for me i think ^_^

When it asked me if I altered my physical appearance I said yes cause I took it as including wearing a binder. Getting a hair cut, and working out. These do alter your physical appearance.

    Your appearance is Masculine

Your brain processes are mostly that of a Female person.

You believe you have serious conflicts about your gender identity.

Male to Female Transsexual, either post-operative or in transition*

Your answers indicate you have altered your physical appearance to look like the opposite sex.Your Answers indicate your psychological state has likely prevailed since you were quite young.

    --------------

I took it three times in 6 months period gaps, my score changed from -300 to -500 to -715. It actually corrosponds nicely to me becoming more comfortable as a woman and the growth I've experienced over the last year. It feels like a decent way to judge your subjective sense of self at a point in time. It is a reflection of what you are thinking and your stage in your journey.

I've taken them and I always get male. They might stereotype a bit, but honestly, there are psychological differences between the genders and I don't see the point in denying that.

This is pretty accurate for me. Why were there so many questions on hugging though? Could they not get it the first time?

Statistically, Homosexual crossdressers have no desire to actually BE the '+thatSex+', but usually engage in such activity as a parody or celebration of the opposite sex, rather than as a means of sexual gratification, enhancement, or stress relief. Many are entertainers in DRAG revues.

I think I did this test before and it said something like mostly masculine, pretty androgynous. Im pretty sure I look entirely female but I understand that I am pretty boyish in spirit at times.

The thing about SAGE is that it can really only tell you what you already think. It asks you who you think you are and gives back the limited option that matches that closest.

And if you're not in one of the few options, well that's just too bad.

I don't really care for it, but it is interesting to have a 150+ question list of things that are considered gendered by society at large.

Yeah that's the problem with most qualitative self-taken tests. They only tell you what you're thinking at the time, not anything that you're truly unaware of. And yeah the questions are weird. The one about fixing cars where it says "Fun. Thats real mans work" and the rest of the answers are pretty negative makes me laugh. Can I not just say fun without that weird added statement? Thats another thing these tests show up -the weird perceptions of their creators and whichever boxes THEY want to put you in.

So many weird/ weirdly put questions, I agree! Like apparently if you're not male or female, you have to be bisexual or asexual. Even though gender and sexuality are distinct, your only combination options are "gay male" "straight male" "bisexual/asexual" "straight female" and "gay female."

lol no, I mostly wear female or neutral clothing currently. I actually found many of these questions didn't have an option that fit me, so I just had to pick one.

I have no idea what anallophilic means.

I selected, "Yeah, I fix cars, I am a reeeeeal maaaan" :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: Whatever. Real men don't eat salad

I agree. It throws out non-binary people and those who don't subscribe to the most widespread/accepted scenario.

I'm not in doubt if I can successfully transition and successful transition doesn't have one definition. I'm in transition or post. I act the man's role often if not all the time and am accepted as such. I don't know how I'm going to end up, but it's normal and human to grow and constantly become. A person is a flowing river, not a stable construct. Once nothing changes, it means you're dead.

I can find zero references to any scientific data on this test, what it's normed to, how it was validated, or anything else that indicates any sort of vaildity. There's nothing on the site, either at that link, or on any other page of the site that I can find.

The fact that it is hosted on the website of a bar (hemingways.org) and that there's absolutely no mention about the history or validity of the test should be a sign that the validity of the test is suspect.

The "current" version of the test is also about 14 years old, and our knowledge about gender variance has changed a lot since 2002, so I'd be highly suspect.

Oh ahd, their definition of Gender Identity Disorder is also quite a few years out of date... so I don't think there's much in here that's likely to be actually useful.

2002 is like internet archeological find, and of course, this test uses a lot of outdated ideas.

I took it plainly for fun, just to see where it takes me, and I wasnt surprised, because if you use the stereotypes like this test does, I get androgynous & trans who is in doubt of successfully transitioning.

A good giveaway of how not seriously one should treat the test is, say, a result where transition is understood as going for SRS or being after SRS already.

Also, according to my therapist all tests, even those they do for legal purposes, are kind of flawed. Not sure how much I should believe that, but of all online tests, I haven't found a single one which would seem at least half scientific.

The test told I'm overall feminine; my brain is female/feminine, and I socialize as androgynous. Seems accurate to me.

My appearance is femine? I would say that I look quite androgynous and if I started to use binders I might pass as a 14-year old boy
