You honestly can't think of one need or use for a gay rugby club?

You guys have (had?) an awesome metal scene!

I wouldn't say it's "common" where I am. It's not like I live in Toronto or something, but it's pretty accepted. The VAST majority of people have been incredibly cool with my sexuality from all age groups.

I've said this joke way too much, but I'll say it again because it's no less true.

Where I live, everybody is so deep in the closet it's practically Narnia.

So, I'm sure there are plenty. They just don't come out because of public backlash.

Phoenix is getting pretty progressive... I've seen a lot of LGBT couples so I think we're doing pretty good. Also being in the Pagan Community I see a lot of us at our functions, Sabbaths and holiday gatherings. We also have a lot of gay weddings being done by Druids and Wiccan Priests and Priestesses.

I live in Canada and across the country most people generally accept lgbt. There are definitely certain cities that are better than others. I live in a province that is a lot more conservative. It's a big city so there is some diversity, but I would definitely say it isn't gay friendly. It's not unfriendly either - but I don't see enough of it, for sure. There are 2 gay bars in my city of over 1 million, and they're totally shitty and no one goes to them.

Well, it's not uncommon. I see a few same-sex couples at my school and know many LGBT people.

I watched a documentary from the BBC about being gay in Nigeria and it was absolutely heartbreaking. My heart goes out to any LGBT person in your country. (*hug*)

I'm from Massachusetts, the first state to legalize same-sex marriage. It is mostly accepted. And in my school there are a lot of LGBT people.

I'm going to guess you're in Alberta. My friend has said Edmonton is pretty accepting with gay people. No idea about Calgary or what Edmonton's gay bar scene is like....

In Quebec, it's pretty easy to find LGBT people. We're quite accepted by the general population (if they're not over 50).

A LOT of people I went to school with ended up LGBT. My own friends are all LGBT (we were friends before knowing, so that's not why we connected). Now, in Quebec City, you find gay couples everywhere. In Cegep, tons of students are LGBT, and they're often the most well known. They're part of most student groups etc.

Yeah, it's pretty common. I was actually surprised to know parents still kicked out their kids for being gay, though. It's so rare here that you'd think it doesn't happen anymore :/

Fairly common in my state. I know several gay and lesbian couples and have been acquainted with them for quite some time. Even though I see it happening, I still live in the South, and there are still instances of lack of acceptance. Bigotry can also rear it's ugly head here. All things considered though, I'm fairly proud of how we've progressed.

West Texas, there is a surprising LGBT community in my area. I live in a town of 3000 people and know of 2 gay men(just got married). 1 lesbian, and one Trans woman (also married), that's just the crowd around my age that are completely out. In the larger town near by there is about the same percentage. The mayor there came out and resigned in 2009, and went to live in Mexico with his boyfriend who was here without a visa. I think its weird that Texas is as conservative as it is, considering the diversity.

I live in a small town in Germany and we dont talk about lgbt in school at all. You dont see any gay couples or just one (when I happen to see a gay couple I stare at them to let them know I am ok with them but its just wierd XD).

Don't you think that it could give exactly the opposite impression?

I'm in toronto, and there's on a scale of one to ten, ten being a lot of gay people, mabye 4 or 5 here. There's not much representation here, and nobody ever talks about this stuff a lot. Unless they're lgbt-friendly, but i don't know anyone like that, so yeah. I think we have a pride parade though, not shure. In school, yeah...that's another story XD i'll just say the words "gay" and "fag" aren't used in the nicest way they could possibly be. Actually, i wonder if some even consider those words offensive...

    Well... it depends.
Generally it isn't so frequent see gay - especially lesbian - couple walking around.
But I'm talking about the situation in Rome, because I know that in Bologna, which is setted in the North of Italy, people are more open minded and there's a safer contest there for LGBT community and in general for the minorities.
