I very, very rarely post here, but it's worth noting that every country that fell to communism either converted back to socialist-capitalism in all but name, or is deeply impoverished. Just a thought.

While a libertarian, I support Hillary Clinton, because third parties never win and Republicans are generally war-mongers these days. Bernie Sanders, in perfect honesty, irritates me. "I'll give a 15 dollar minimum wage!" comes with an implied "I'll kill small businesses because I feel indignant, ruin the economy, and gain universal dislike by the middle class, who continue to make up the majority of the electorate, while the poor can't get any jobs because it would be too expensive to hire them." Honestly.

I'm not sure how plumbing services work in Sweden, but in the USA for example, if you have a plumbing problem, you call a private company to come out to fix it. The owner of the company dispatches employees, usually in a van that the employer buys and pay all the expenses for. The boss pays for the phone that the customer calls to, and the dispatchers wages who dispatches the work. The boss pay for any supplies needed for the jobs. Advertising so the customer will call them instead of another plumbing company, the boss foots the bill. If there's a business license required the employer pays for that. If the company is bonded for mistakes, the employer pays that.

The employer pays a lot in expenses just to have an employee on the payroll in addition to the base pay, ( like social security and workers comp) unless the plumber employee is considered self employed and contracted to the employer. In that case an employer isn't going to get anyone for $8.00 an hour unless they're an illegal alien, and maybe not even then, because plumbing is a skilled trade.

About the only expenses an hourly employee plumber would have would be hand tools and possibly uniforms, and they can write that off on their taxes as a business expense. Most of the expensive machines that are occasionally used in plumbing jobs are owned and payed for by the boss. If there is a mythical skilled plumber out there that is working for $8 an hr while the boss is making $50, the employee is free to go into business for themselves, maybe even undercut their former boss. If you do decide to go into business for yourself in the US, be prepared to operate at a net loss for the first few years, even if you have regular business. Also, if you're an hourly employee, the IRS takes your withholding taxes out as you earn them, based on a percentage. If you're the boss however, you pay your estimated taxes in advance, every 3 months. Don't have the money to do that after paying your employees wages? Too bad, get another business loan if you can. You want to call off sick or take days off like your hourly employees? Try that and see what happens to your business if you're just starting out, unless you've got a good GM there.

Sorry for the rant. Don't misunderstand me, I'm not anti government. There's plenty of things that government is best able to do, like protect the environment, put reasonable and needed regulations on business, defend the country from crime or terrorist attacks, keeping the country out of wars if at all possible (which the US government has done a poor job of the last 16 yrs) making sure food for sale is safe to eat, maintain public roads, etc. I just don't want the government doing everything for everybody, or putting unreasonable regulations on business, which isn't good for business or consumers.

Hillary is obviously better than any of the Republican candidates, but she's still a corporate whore and is only interested in her political career, so great change is unlikely to be achieved during her presidency.

I personally can't vote for Hillary, she's proven to be untrustworthy of top secret information when put in charge of it. I would never wish that on my brothers.

I doubt it. Michelle will have to wait until she's nearly 70 like Hillary.

The supreme court is more important to me that the presidency. Voting against a democrat is voting against future democratic judges and cabinet members.

And you're okay with the country being run by an exclusive cabal of rich and absolutely corrupt politicians, replacing themselves in a process that reeks of nepotism? We were supposed to learn from the failures of the Romans.

I saw someone say this on another website, and I more or less agreed with it:

Why would anyone support Hillary? The only reason I can find is that she's not Trump

Hillary's only appeal is that she isn't Donald Trump, lol. The lesser of two evils.

You know what's interesting about that though? Everyone claims he's homophobic yet he went to John Elton's wedding and Hilary for the longest time says she only supports civil unions.

It's #BernieOrGreen for me. I'm a Green, not a Democrat. If Sanders is not the nominee, I'll be voting for Jill Stein.

One of the options not presented was the write in candidate. Granted this will bee seen by many as throwing away a vote, however, it may be the only way one can retain one's personal integrity. I'm not a socialist, but I certainly will support Sanders if he's nominated. He's the only one running who has not been bought and paid for with the exception of Trump. Trump is, however, an embarrassment to and an indictment of the American people.

Though there at one time there may have been hope in Rubio, he has decided to follow the pack. He represented for many the future of the GOP. One who would not be a puppet for private interests or the Tea Party Movement. The rest of the candidates were/are just so many clowns in a clown car. There are few adults left in the party, sadly.

As for Hillary Clinton, she too is perhaps one of the most disingenuous, dishonest, duplicitous politicians on the American stage. With all due respect to those feminists who are so desperate to see a woman in office, Clinton should not be your candidate. Her interests have only been her own. To call her Machiavellian is to damn her with faint praise. Comparisons to Eva Peron are too easy and too numerous. To quote a line from "Evita":

Eva: Did you hear that? They called me a whore. They actually called me a whore.

Elderly Gentleman: Ah, Senora Peron. They still call me an Admiral though I left the sea long ago.

As I said the comparisons are far to easy.

Anyone naïve enough to think there vote has any weight has yet to acknowledge the fact we are a republic, not a democracy. The nominations will be decided by the delegates at the conventions. It is not inconceivable for them to chose a candidate who has not run in the primary, especially the Republicans. If they nominate someone like Romney out of the blue, this election could have very different results. The antipathy toward Clinton by much of the nation will be her undoing. Her policies will be fought even move severely than Obama's. The nation's distaste for her will most likely result in an even more "conservative" Congress at the midterm elections in reaction to her election.

Our nation will most likely will be poorly served should any of the front running candidates be nominated.
