Mary Sue wondered out loud,"Where is Akuji?"

 

After walking for what seemed like hours, Dremad finally could see something in the distance. "Hm, looks like smoke. There must be a fire nearby." He said to himself as he continued walking.

 

Quinn yawned, pulling their coat over their shoulders.

 

Thorn frowned at the falcon and dropped her hand. "The palace of gold...the line between the rich and poor is simply too large." Her fists tightened a fraction as her mind flashed back to her selling as a slave. "Such a thing is simply...impossible to correct." She adruptly stood up and looked around for a few twigs to throw into the dying fire.

"Such people are bastards," she muttured to herself as she threw twigs into the fire, watching it burn brighter with glazed eyes. "Hopeless for their future."

 

They let out a tiny startled squeak as the fire in front of them leapt up.

 

"I travel alone. I mean, I have him to keep me company", Ayden said motioning to the sky the falcon was lost in. "This way, there's nobody to hold me behind. Nobody to look after." Sometimes I befriend some groups, but mostly just to get easier access to different means of transportation. Tying yourself to humans is like tying yourself to land..."

 

"Tying yourself to land may not be such a horrible thing," Thorn said ruefully, forcefully throwing a stick into the flames. "Least you stay grounded."

 

"Thorn, settle down with the sticks!" They moved away from the fire.

 

"Hey, I've hardly seen any humans since I woke up." Dremad said as he walked up towards the group. "Definitely not as many as are here around this camp fire."

Dremad scanned the place around him as he spoke "And it seems you guys have been here for quite sometime. How long are you settling?"

 

"Nothing brings me anywhere, I wander endlessly in search of anything that may be amiss. That is my mission, and I seek to fulfill it till the day I lay down for good."

Dremad then gazes at him with a piercing stare "There's something different about you compared to some others I've met. What are you?"

 

Quinn watched the two talk, wrapping their tail around themself and the now-sleeping Sifa.

 

Quinn, being basically a cat, felt that he was odd. They didn't quite know what to make of him but he certainly wasn't human.

 

"So, you share a similar purpose?" Dremad asked as he began digging through his pack. "Here, it is a gift from me to you." He said as he handed him a bloody piece of flesh.

Dremad began to sit down on the nearest log at the fire. A Sensor, hmm, i've never heard of that from my time, and i've seen a lot of things. I wonder if this person is suited for the duty he has taken upon himself. "What's your name, Sensor? My name is Dremad Derma, warrior and knight for the Creator."

 

Quinn began to tug at their sleeve when Dremad sat near them. This guy made them nervous.

 

Stephen decided to observe the exchange before him. The newcomer was definitely an interesting person, but perhaps it would be best to stay silent until words were necessary.

He started to pack things away. He took some dirt and threw it on the fire, extinguishing it, and went to the springs to rinse his hands.

 

Dremad then noticed the cat person near him "Hm? You don't need to be wary of me. I wish no harm on anyone who isn't evil." He continued as he lay his weapons down "Anything amiss detected from me is just my being ready for anything. I also have a tinge of the powers of darkness as well."

 

Cool air reached their skin, the warmth beginning to fade. They yawned and put on the hood of their coat.
