Out of all the countries in the Middle East Israel is by far the least evil when it comes to how they treat their own people.

coming from someone who spent the first seven years of their life as the child of an expartiate in saudi arabia, i know that that country does so some very outrageous things, that shouldn't be allowed today. but saying that it must be 'sad' to live there, or saying 'atleast it's not saudi arabia' is kindof a stretch. life in saudi isn't sad, and we don't live in fear of the goverment, actually. to be honest, i know more people in north america who are actually afraid of the american goverment than people in saudi who are afraid of the extreme wahabbi goverment over there. my point is, you should get that idea that life is terrible there(not that it's better than us or canada, but still) out of your head cuz it's simply not true. just sharing some thoughts, peace.

I'm sorry, but which countries in the Middle East would you like to have as allies? Cause there's only a handful of them and the rest aren't much better

Exactly. It is the most flawed justice system on the planet especially in relation to breach of human rights and a lot of innocent people are killed for crimes they did not do or even crimes that in most countries, aren't even considered as crimes. They execute by crucifixion which is followed by beheading (if the former doesn't do the job) or just simply beheading by sword.

And the US is happy to be their ally, despite the fact that Saudi Arabia is arguably the birthplace of terrorism.

Random article I heard about a few days ago (there are SO many of these)
Saudi Arabia: Juvenile prisoner faces 'death by crucifixion' after appeal is dismissed

Saudi Arabia executes 47 on terrorism charges - Al Jazeera English
An update: 47 of those convicted were executed today, including Shi'ite cleric Nimr al-Nimr known for his activism of Shi'ite rights and calls for separatism.

Protests broke out in Iran and other countries and Saudi Arabia officially complained about the Iranian government's diplomatic reaction to the executions. More protests are at risk of erupting in Shi'ite areas of Saudi Arabia.

While of course it's hypocritical for Iran to complain, the fact that the nation chairing the UNHRC just executed dozens of political dissidents on extremely weak charges is considerably more concerning.

I'm sorry that this is a very late response, but it's absolutely reasonable to say that it is sad to live in Saudi Arabia. Gender segregation, laws which tether women to their husbands or male relatives, different criminal sentences for men and women, open persecution of religious minorities, religious police who exercise often arbitrary power, an almost complete dearth of democracy and independent legal institutions, harsh punishments for lèse-majesté and regular crackdowns on dissent are things which render life unlivable for too many people in the Kingdom. There is a gilded world in Saudi Arabia free of many of the country's unfortunate realities, but that is inaccessible to most.

The United States government is much less scary than the Saudi government. No matter how much fear many unreasonable Americans have of their government, it doesn't come close to the brutality of the Saudi government's repression.

Well, if Hell's real, this is probably it. by ''it'' i mean Saudi Arabia, life's almost non existent, and freedom's the same. you either comply and live your life the way they dictate it should be. or you get your life taken away. that's coming from a Saudi. just adding my input.

The downfall of this 'country' will be a great day for the world. Saudi Arabia is a force of pure evil.
