Are there countries you DON'T want to visit?

God, yeah, I never saw the appeal of Vegas either. But I think it can be redeemed in that it's a place people go primarily for things like stag/hen nights and cheap weddings where you just let go and have a laugh and its perfectly safe to do so. Whereas in Dubai you can't even smoke an electronic cigarette or kiss in public - same sex couple or not - without getting fined or imprisoned. If you give birth in the UAE and you're not married, you'll get arrested and the authorities won't give your child a birth certificate :eek: God, what a sh*thole! But yes, silly Western tourists! Keep peeing away all your money on this place, it's great!

I used to work with a woman who couldn't get more than 20 hours a week, her husband was in remission from cancer, who actually cried one day in front of me cause she could barely afford to send her son to childcare - AND THEN SHE BOOKED A HOLIDAY TO DUBAI :bang:

 

North Korea! Too much oppression in that place I would go insane with depression and boredom. Kim whatever-his-name-is has all the qualities in a person I absolutely hate. He is so damn ugly and to worship him is too disgusting for words to express.

Well, seeing as I DON'T get on air planes or ships/boats.......Im limited to North America and South America.

Although I have NO intentions of EVER going to Mexico!!!!

I would like to go to Canada though.

 

It'd be easier to list what countries I would go to:
* Canada.
* maybe Britain or Australia

I have mixed feelings about most of Africa because of diseases (I know it's illogical fear) and the same goes for parts of South America I'm a baby when it comes to bugs and snakes and it scares me how many different species they have there

Basically any country without free speech and which is intolerant toward gay people, no thanks. There's still PLENTY in North America I haven't seen.

I'd like to travel, I want to see the world, I'm naturally curious. But it's not worth putting my life at risk.

 

All of the degrees I have looked at day year abroad in Japan or China and im like no thanks I'll stay in England.
So yeah those, my family are talking about visiting Egypt. I can't decide if it's the country or two weeks constantly with my family that are putting me off.

 

I'm American, so everybody hates me already. I'm also from the South, so the Yankees hate me too. I'm white, so everybody hates me double. I think the world would overlook the transgender-thing, though, LOL...

North Korea, for obvious reasons. Though I wouldn't mind visiting, as a spectator, because it does fascinate me in a morbid sort of way.

Southeast Asia, like Cambodia, Vietnam, and Laos. I'm pretty sure they're still sore about that war.

Much of the Middle East, I'd be rounded up and stoned... a lot. I've been to Egypt, so that's checked off, though I'd like to go to Tunisia. This was before all the Arab Spring shenanigans.

The middle of Africa could also be rough. Not so much for the terrain, but what all lives there. Not really in the mood to get attacked by a gorilla or a guerrilla... I'm so clever.

Some parts of South America, too, are questionable. Since I'm not a rich white male coming for cocaine, I'd probably be killed.

I'm having too much with this.

 

@Kaiser: Odd, I've always very much wanted to see Laos, as it is tropical and very sparsely populated; about like the US state of Maine. And there are a lot of Elephants! It's among the last vestiges of land like it, in SE Asia.

Huh, places I would NOT go: Mostly ones in the middle east, and northern Africa; though I would like to see some of the ruins in Jordan.

But I'd be willing to go to most places, with the right planning/resources.

 

Don't get me wrong, it does sound lovely. But safety is something to consider. Though maybe you could protect me? LOL.

Dubai or Qatar. I remember that 2 Filipinos are arrested for cross dressing (I just dont remember if it happened in Dubai or Qatar).

Aside from that, I'm fine with visiting any country as long as I can go home once I'm done.
