If you could live in any US state, which one would it be?

Anywhere out west. I hate Ohio... and I also hate the cold.

 

Washington state. Hello, Seattle

 

With people out of the question, maybe North Carolina climate wise. I like New York but not the smell and overcrowdedness.

 

Manhattan, New York

 

I'd love to live in NY...

But since my very best friend is living in Utah, I'd go there.

 

In no particular order, Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming would be my top choices. I'd also consider Washington (not Seattle though, I'm not a fan of big cities) and Maine.

 

CANADA.

Just kidding. California or New York, maybe? Washington would be pretty nice, too.

 

Well that's intriguing ... ever actually been to any of them?

I take it you're looking for open space, beauty (doesn't necessarily fit Wyoming though), and sparse population all at the same time?

 

Massachusetts - but only in Boston. I'd consider New York (the city) too, but people tell me it's pretty filthy.

San Francisco, Seattle and Portland are other cities that seem nice with open-minded people and policies, and all in states with marriage equality. Plus, Washington legalised cannabis - how awesome is that?

Vermont seems alright - but too rural and isolated.

Nah. I'm kidding. I mean, I could marry a girl there, but it's too urban and too polluted for me. I would love to go to Colorado. It's at least ten degrees cooler than here and you get to ride up a mountain. Plus, no school during winter!

 

It's funny to see what people think about states that they have possibly never been to. Vermont really isn't that rural and isolated. There's plenty of big cities.

I'd stay right here in good ol' Mass, thanks.

 

My first initial choice would have been New York but when I thought about it, I don't think I'd like to live there because as they say, it's the "city that never sleeps" and I feel that life would be too fast-paced over there.

So my next choice would definitely be California. Preferrably near the beaches. California seems to have the best weather. I currently live in Nevada and the Summers and Winters can be brutal. I'm originally from California and I definitely preferred the weather there. Not to mention, there are always seems to be awesome events going on in California like concerts and festivals. So yeah, California would definitely be the place I'd want to live though realistically, it is an expensive place to live.

 

Vermont's largest city has a population of 42,282, so no, there aren't. It also has a population density of 68 people per square mile, so is pretty sparsely populated - especially considering where I currently live (England) has a population density of 1,054.1 people per sq mile. In fact, most US states would be rural and isolated compared to what I'm used to - only New Jersey and Rhode Island are similar.

 

Back near Traverse City, Michigan, where I grew up. I want lots of, clean water, nice, fresh air, and I want a place where it snows a lot, so I can cross country ski in the woods, and have sled dogs.

It's too hot in Maryland, and I can't fathom wanting to live in any more of an oven than this inferno.

If not Michigan, then New Hampshire, or Vermont.

 

Yeah I was going to say, the vast majority of US states aren't even close to Europe's population density..

 

I really don't know. I don't.

Part of me likes the feel of upstate NY, Vermont, and Maine. They can get real cold. I'd be ok with the people in upstate NY, having experienced that area, but don't know how well I'd do in Vermont and Maine. I've heard they are not that nice to outsiders, especially Maine.

Part of me would like the mountains of North Carolina. However, if the city is too small, I wouldn't like that.

Another part of me likes Florida. But I wouldn't choose Miami or anything near it. It's all too crazy, but visiting the Miami area is great.

 

I'd like to live somewhere on the west coast. California or oregon would be nice
