OK, I'm going to be brave and join in with the pretty people. I'm a long way from needing to "pass", still coming to terms with my identity, then there's all the coming out... but I might as well learn some tips now. What do you think of my latest pictures? Anything you think I should improve on?

Hey I took a look at your album, and I gotta say, I love your dress sense I would say you pass. I think maybe you could try some eye makeup (eyeliner/mascara), but other than that, you look fine

I'd say you pass, but if I were to comment on anything it'd be your eyebrows. They're a bit thick, but because they are a bit thick, I think they could be trimmed into a really good feminine curve, though trimming eyebrows can be tricky.

That might just be me, though. I love a good curve on an eyebrow.

I'd say you definitely pass, though, despite that.

So I'm being brave here, but I know I don't pass as a guy very well right now, with my big girly glasses and chubby cheeks, but I would like some tips on passing better.

Actually you look fantastic, I can't tell if you're a guy looking like a girl or a girl looking like a guy.

The only way anyone should be able to tell is voice tbh. Very androgynous.

 

Actually Frostbite I think you look pretty masculine to me, you could definitely pass.

 

Funny, because years of vocal practice since before puberty left me with a wide range and a low-toned melodic speaking voice. Sometimes I have to try for a high voice. I only thought it was a fluke at the DMV when the guy behind the counter asked my mom "Which of these boys is [Brother's name]?" He then saw my paperwork and realized I was born a girl. Weirdest apology ever. :lol:

 

Thanks! I've gone from "eh I'll just wear whatever keeps me warm" to "OMG clothes are so fun!", glad to hear I'm not totally misguided in dress sense

Gotta get my hands on some eyeliner, I've used a little mascara but obviously that's not enough.

Thanks for the advice! I've given them a little pluck just to thin them out - personally I'm not a fan of overly shaped eyebrows, just want to look feminine while also being as natural as possible. But I think thinning them worked wonders, I was passing to myself even with no makeup and my man-glasses on. :O

 

Yeah you look very androgynous in these pics. I think different frames would help. But very androgynous.

 

The only thing I can see in this photo is that the side of your hair is parted and your forehead shows a lot on that side, making your forehead look larger than it would if your hair covered more of it. Wow, that was a long run on sentence. But I hope you understand what I'm saying.

 

Ughh it seems everyone passes but me....i know im just being a negative Nancy..all I care is if I pass to me and it just seems like why even bother...srry for all the negative energy

 

Maybe you just haven't found your style yet? Different clothing compliments different frames and people. I know if I wear certain styled clothing I don't pass, even if the fit is well, but if I wear another I pass constantly for the right gender in public. It can really be as simple as a shirt pattern. I would just try on things you would have never considered before, and see how it works for you.

For example, once I tried on knitted sweater (which on the rack looked horrible), but it's a shirt that looks well with my body type and allows me to pass because it's slim, the pattern is distracting, and thick.

 

Thx Bonaparte...im just in the dumps today I guess and living with my great uncle does not help at all....he is old school asshole type that I cant even try to come out to..he is a good guy and all its just he would definitely not be cool with it though I'm just trying to be cool with him and not start drama..
