I'm taking a spanish class right now, and plan on taking it for two more year hopefully. I'm better at reading it rather than speaking of it however, but getting better!

When I said that Duolingo teaches English from Japanese, I mean that it's currently in the beta phase. As for the other way around, that probably won't be for a while; they have to find people who know Japanese and English, figure out how to allow for the kana and kanji to be typed out, etc. As of now, no one is doing anything for teaching Japanese. In the meantime, you have japaneseclass.jp which seems interesting (the layout is a little confusing though; it took me a while before I figured out how to practice hiragana and katakana. You must learn these two syllabraries first before you get into the kanji, otherwise, it's just impossible).

If Duolingo introduces Japanese lessons, I certainly will let everyone know. In the meantime, Duolingo has French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, and German lessons from English.

I'm not currently actively learning any new languages, but I can speak several: English, Swedish and German, and Japanese, in order of fluency, are all foreign languages to me. I'd like to take Japanese lessons again, and I should probably polish up my German, my vocabulary is pretty much gone.

I live in the Netherlands, so I speak Dutch fluently. My mother is Croatian and learned that from birth, so also very fluent in Croatian.
    English, obviously.

I studied German for 5 years, French for 3 years and Latin for 6 years. My German is quite good, my Latin is above average and my French is so-so.

I really want to learn Japanese and Russian.

I learned English really easily (it's a foreign language for me). I'm currently learning Spanish and Italian. Next year, I'll be starting German and Mandarin Chinese lessons in college. My first language is French.

I can speak Spanish and Portuguese. I started learning Spanish as a young child and now I'm basically fluent.

I started learning Portuguese last year, and because it is similar to Spanish I can speak it pretty well.

I learn languages as a hobby, so I know a bit of a whole bunch. One day I'll travel and I'll get to use them or something.

My tools: FSI materials, Duolingo, Memrise, Netflix (watching movies in your target language helps a ton)

Me sorprende que no hay otra parte del sitio en que sólo puede hablar en español. Ojalá que los moderadores hayan visto este hilo.

I write here, using google translate, my language is Spanish, learning English in school, but, I only get to the level "Tarzan-style"

  19. I can speak English, obviously because I was born and raised in the U.S.

I can speak Hokkien and Teochew, Chinese dialects because my parents and I communicate in those two languages. If you guys want to learn an Asiatic language, don't learn Hokkien or Teochew. China wiped out those two languages and replaced them with Mandarin. If you want to go to Singapore one day, then you should learn.

I'm currently learning Mandarin in high school right now and the lessons are going great *inserts broken Mandarin here*.

I'm also learning Cantonese, but mostly the swear words (Cantonese speakers, you know what I mean, because diu ne, bat gong). I can't help it, Cantonese speakers have a penchant for swear words to use in their daily lives other than English speakers. I mainly use Cantonese to order dim sum with my relatives.

The area I live in has a large Spanish speaking population and I'm able to pick it up. Again, I started to pick up a couple of unique words like buta and chino... Chino is a nickname they use for Asians (even though some of us aren't Chinese, because CHINo, CHINa, CHINese), and buta... well Spanish speakers might know.
