Age you started drinking alcohol?

15.. Now I'm kinda the excess in moderation type of guy.

 

I started drinking the year I turned 18, but I was still 17. Wow that was a crazy year. I used to have no hangovers...

 

i'm unsure with my answer, 17, since i barely remember. i've already graduated high school (insert a long explanation of what our country's school system used to be before K12 here) that time at the age of 16 so it has to be older than that. it was when our former senior advisor/teacher in highschool had a birthday party for his baby and that aforementioned teacher made me drink beer against my will. lol well actually, i gave in two times he convinced me since i'd feel bad if i didn't drink even a sip. peer pressured, perhaps?

 

I'm in the exact situation. That's why I drink all the time, but I keep it at a reasonable level and I don't do drinking contests.

 

the first time I got drunk was at the age of 12/13. I didnt drink from 16 to 24 though...till I spent a few months working in Ireland

 

I sneak out and have a beer alone every Saturday. I started in New Year's Eve. It helps me laugh at things.

 

I started when I was 18. I live in the US, but I'm also a Canadian citizen and my parents are from Quebec (where I went to university) so it was never something I worried about.

I'm really not a big drinker though. I'll have an occasional beer or two, but that's about it. Part of the reason is I was always afraid of accidentally outing myself if I had too much to drink, but in general I just don't see a strong appeal. It's nice to take the edge off sometimes but I like feeling in control.

 

14... I drank wine that my parents stored in the back of the fridge.
15,I drank at parties. The barmen at weddings thought I was 19 when I wore a suit xD
16 I stopped drinking because I dont like being wasted.My muscles feel wierd and I do not like the sensation.

 

14, First time I got drunk.
Lot of my friends drink, here at Slovakia lot of teens drinks. When someone invites me to go drink with them, I just buy myself a bottle of wine with cola, so I'm never drunk like them and I hate taste of alcohol( like vodka, rum...).

 

I'm 19 and I've never drank, nor do I ever plan or want to.

I'm too weak to trust myself with addictive substances of any kind, honestly.

 

My dad always thought that small amounts with a meal to educate my palate from a young age was a good thing. Plus it stopped alcohol from being this forbidden fruit that I would go out and binge on as soon as I was able. So I've had alcohol, mostly wine since I was 5 or so. I've been tipsy to varying degrees in my teens, due to sneaking champagne at dinner parties and stuff, but I've only been drunk once - my 18th.

 

I drank a few times when I was 14-15, then stopped until I was 20.

 

I don't drink, but growing up my family offered me a taste of wine and then laughed at my disgusted expression. Since then, I've tasted beer and other drinks, but decided a few years ago that they weren't for me.

 

I was 3 when I had more then a sip of a drink...my grandad left out his rum, so my twin and I got hold of it.
But saying that I only propert started drinking on a regular occasion when I was 17, but don't really drink now.

 

I was forced into drinking at my 18th birthday, I have preferred to stay away from it since then. I don't see the appeal.

I got an accidental taste of my dad's beer when I was 5 or 6, thought it was apple juice. Other then that I'm a non-drinker, never been interested in it. Dad died from damage due to being an alcoholic, and years later my mom almost did. So nope, no drinking for me.

 

Never tried. To be honest it's just never been a temptation. I didn't grow up around much of it, so that might be a contributing factor.

 

I seem to have this recollection of having a sip of some beer (what I know now as Coors Light) when I was under 8. I didn't like the taste of beer then. I concluded (but didn't know I concluded) that sort of drink was really reserved for social gatherings.
That sort of mentality kept with me for the remaining years and I really do only drink alcohol when I'm in social occasions.

 

Beer (or rather mix beers) at the age of 16, which is the legal age for drinking beer and wine over here. I think hard liquor from the age of 18 or something.
The question I get looked at strangely for though is, when and why I stopped drinking alcohol ^^ (around the age of 21 and for no particular reason)
