Oh I know it's not a party, but some people who claim to be independent treat it as one, if you're get what I'm saying. I rather not be associated with any of it.

Unsurprised at the lack of constitutionals.

I'm not in the US but I checked the green party. Around the US elections I've done some research and they were the ones closest to my ideals. I'm a member of the Dutch green (and left-wing, progressive) party too, that might've influenced it too

    I'm a registered democrat.
    I've only ever voted democrat.
I just tend to agree more with that side of the political spectrum.

Not a US citizen, but Green/Pirate party reflect my views the most. Libertarianism I find interesting.

I vacillate between Republican and Independent.

I often describe myself as Independent more because I'm really grumpy with the direction the old farts have taken the GOP. I personally find it extremely frustrating how the Moral Majority trashed this party 30 years ago and how they've gone on to completely alienate their young and gay base. And when you alienate a base, they utterly radicalize in the opposite direction. I see it all the time in a lot of my gay friends, who believe in some things that would make a Bolshevik cringe in horror.

Good news though! It's, in the end, the old farts. 75% of Republicans under 30 and 50% under 50 (I believe these are correct) support gay marriage. It is encouraging and I believe we'll bounce back when the old timers die off.

I was going to say the common sense political party. But, that looks to be something real, and I am too lazy to check their political views (so I can not say that).

7 times out of 10 I will side with a Democrat - something like that

edit: How did I forget my support for the Rent is Too Damn High Party???

I am not in the States, but the Whig Party, oh they don't exist anymore (just teasing) OK then the Democrats, very similar to the Labour Party in the UK, I quite respect Obama after his video on the bullying of LGBT Youth in America & his support for the victims

in oregon, 'constitutionalist' basically means 'someone so far to the right of the fringe of the right wing movement that they believe people like sarah palin are liberal socialist communists'.

the general consensus I have gotten from other people elsewhere is that the above basically sums up the kinds of people you see running for political office under that party afflilation.

constitutionalist tend to hate the constitution. they just wrap themselves in it as a cover. they usually want to repeal most of it, especially the religious clause of the first ammendment, which they want to replace with a 'my interpretation of christanity, or I f you up' clause. And their interpretation of christanity tends to be summed up accurately by "if jesus said it, f you, i dont like that, i get to say what jesus should have said, and f you is you disagree with me, cuase my jesus has more guns that your jesus, you socialist!"

in oregon, for some reason, they always seem to print rainbow icons in their voter phamplet entries... and they also always look like they escape from a mental hospital by crawling through the sewer pipe... yet unlike in that film, they dont come out the otherside magically clean.

I'd say I'm a libertarian, although I'm pretty close to being an anarchist at this point!

I'm actually kind of surprised at how many people are in favor of the Green party, I never realized just how big that it was.

Well this is an LGBTQ forum, progressive views and partisan affiliations are going to be overrepresented compared to the general public.

The fact that we have more Greens than Republicans here should be a badge of honour for this community. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

The green party has also been with gay marriage for a while now without being forced into it as much as the democrats
And don't the constitutionals believe that there should be a theocracy or something. I say that as one of there major points somewhere.

They may not be perfect, but Democrats have delivered on things, such as gay marriage in Maryland, and other states. We'd have gay marriage today, in New Jersey, but Republican Governor and blowhard, Chris Christie vetoed it. Similarly, we would have had gay marriage earlier in Rhode island, but again, a Republican stood in the way. So from the standpoint of delivering the goods, I'll go with the democrats, despite the party being more conservative overall than I would like.

I'm a democrat mainly because a lot of the republicans in my state don't give a fuck about public education and don't want to tax the rich and want to keep money going to private school

i'm actually the only person who's a teenager and into politics out of my group of friend
a lot of my friends say they are democrat because of basic beliefs but they don't care for economic issue or really anything budget wise when it comes to the public education system

I'm a Democrat mainly because of economic issues. Republicans will tell you that if they just cut taxes, a million jobs will just magically fall from the sky.

I'm not a Republican because they're so god damn hateful. They hate Blacks, Jews, Muslims, Atheists, gays, women, basically anyone who's not a white, Christian heterosexual male.

The last time I was in Washington DC, it was 4 months after Barack Obama became President and standing outside the White House fence was a group of men wearing banana suits holding signs and screaming that Obama is a monkey, and an ape and a cottonpicker, and pretty much every racial slur in the book. You can't tell me that it has nothing to do with racism.
