What I hate most about Christmas is...

Not to sound to depressing but. What I hate most about Christmas is... drowning in a sea of (straight) couples and being the only (gay) single person! :/ not fun!

By far, all the commercialization. It drives me carzy!

Every Christmas, my mom asks me to do something odd, and when I say no she always protests with, "It's Christmas Eve!" As in:

"Why don't you have a beer with your brother?"
"No, that's OK."
"C'mon, it's Christmas Eve!"

The fun part is that for the rest of the year I'll just repeat "C'mon, it's Christmas Eve!" whenever my mom and I disagree (over something miniscule, though, not in the middle of an serious argument or something).

 

Last Christmas was when I realized that I've let myself crush on a straight dude! If only I knew the repercussion...never doing that again. SCARRED!!!

 

--I hate Fox News bitching about the "war on Christmas" (although it makes for good comedy on the Daily Show and Colbert!).

--I hate getting the heteronormative gag gifts from my relatives. Last year one of the gifts was a pink boob-shaped pillow. My parents told these relatives that I'm gay this summer after I first came out, so who knows what the fuck kind of gifts I'll get this year.

--As others have stated, I hate hearing the renditions of xmas carols playing in grocery stores. What's worse is when it's really bad covers of songs. It's kind of like waiting to see whether or not the dreaded optional high-note will come in a rendition of the U.S. national anthem ("land of the freeeeEEEEEEE"). Fuck, that makes me cringe and shiver like hearing nails on a chalkboard.

--I hate seeing all these romantic-comedy movies that come around Christmas and New Year's featuring only straight couples gushing over each other. Way to rub it in our faces dickholes!

--I hate the Salvation Army accosting people outside stores, especially after I just recently learned that they are anti-LGBT. I'd like that clang them upside the head with those fucking bells.

--The commercialism, especially the fact that they start putting out Christmas stuff in stores before Halloween even happens. Gosh, that sure seems like a war on Christmas, huh? The poor persecuted majority.:rolle:

Yeah, I guess I can be kind of a scrooge around Christmas, although I do like the secular festivities (the colored lights, fir tree giving off nice odor in the living room, giving of gifts, etc.). I also enjoy Christmas themed movies/shows like "Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer", the xmas-themed episodes of "South Park" (e.g. "Woodland Critter Christmas", "Red Sleigh Down"), "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" xmas special, "The Ref", etc. And getting drunk!:eusa_danc

 

I love! christmas!!! but the constant songs at work is doing mi head in !!!!! ya get meh! :lol:

 

My mother watching every horrible Halmark and Lifetime movie around because she can't remember seeing them the year before. :/

The Christmas shopping; my mom wants to find the "perfect gift" all the time. You know how much of a killer that is on feet?

Getting asked what I want for Christmas; I'll be happy with whatever I get. It's a weird thing to say, but I really don't want to get asked that anymore because, the way I see it, it's about giving. And if you got something, being happy that the person even thought of you and was kind enough to take the time out of their day to wrap it up and put your name on it.

The feeling of not wanting to get up because the bed is so comfortable; I always get like this when the temperature drops. I only dislike the feeling because I have to get up and it's so hard...torture!

I have that same feeling... only it's with my grandma and grandpa and my extended family (I'm really close to them).

That feeling sucks.

 

Being surrounded with all those couples, while I am always alone at Christmas:icon_sad:

 

Idiots fighting over stupid imagined threats to their religion or lack thereof. That goes for every group: Christians, Jews, atheists, and all the rest. The holidays should be a time of peace and merrymaking, not pointless bickering.
