And just to show my ignorance of all things classical, I finally found out today what the mouse army theme (from 1973 Soviet animated Nutcracker)/mushroom dance from Fantasia really is. "Chinese Dance"? Wouldn't have guessed in a million years.

I switched to the classical music channel the other day before i went to bed.

I had like the weirdest dream ever...dunno if I'll do that again. I think it made my brain work a little too hard or something xD

Makes sense. If classical is a lot different from what you usually listen to, it would give your brain new information and subconscious thoughts or whatever. I used to use music to help with lucid dreaming for the same reason. Sometimes it worked.

Vivaldi four seasons specifically winter the first part which was redone by trans siberian orchestra

Sometimes when I go to sleep the music doesn't stop in my head.

The dream was way too weird. I went inception in it too. At first I got magically teleported to a Youtubers home and she lulled me to sleep ( seriously...idk why it just happened that way 0.o ) then I feel asleep and had another dream inside of my dream...I don't remember what the second one was, but I vaugely remember it sort of laying my life out on a platter for me and I felt a sense of peace when I woke up. 0.0

Beethoven's symphonies are among my favourites of his compositions.

I love classical music! Right now I'm very into Sibelius' works, but I'm practicing Vivaldi's violin concerto in A minor on the violin atm

To be frank, I usually have a hard time appreciating symphonies [especially the earlier one goes] compared to other works...

Would anyone happen to know why some CD collections present works out of order? As a quick example this is largely correct, save for Nos. 3 and 28. Each of which are placed a bit further down and on a successive disc. Realise it's not a major issue, but I'm still confused as to why this is as I've noticed similar things on different sets.

Berlioz's Roman Carnival Overture will not leave my brain. Been humming it along with Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade all day long.

Find it amusing that I've only really gotten into Beethoven the last couple weeks. Had listened to various works of his over the years, but never got into a full-blown 'kick.' Methinks if he wasn't so glorified that I would've well before now.

I just sent an email asking about joining my school's Early Music ensemble. I honestly am interested in the era and instruments (always loved medieval culture/history), but I'm a little nervous because when I went for their winter concert, there was a super cute guy that I found my eyes always gravitating toward. It didn't help that his parents and brother were sitting behind me, so I was left getting all flustered with his playful smiles that could have just been directed at them. :x

Part of me wants to see this guy again, but part of me also realizes the ensemble has a lot of members who didn't practice well enough such that it was sometimes painful to listen. I guess listening to professional musicians and being in quite good ensembles in my high school band/orchestra have spoiled me. I've seriously been thinking of putting ads for a new chamber music group, but I just never get the time to do it.

Just listened to Beethoven's twenty-ninth piano sonata again. Wow. It's almost boggling to think how a modern piano could make it through the final movement, I don't even know how a fortepiano would have....
