Im also excited and Hermione is sexy.... but not as sexy as Rupert Grint. It's something about Red Hair and Blue Eyes. Hermione better watch herself.

In a short, simple sentence: As perfect as a Harry Potter movie could get in my opinion. It was absolutely brilliant.

They left out the Death Eater/student fight so it wouldn't detract from the final fight in DH... which has exactly the same scenario. Leaving out the funeral is a valid complain I suppose but I don't really care, I didn't feel that scene was necessary.

what about all of the students and teachers raising their wands in solemn salute to dumbledore's memory? I found that to be a more moving thing than some tufty hair man droning at a podeium.

OMG Daniel Radcliffe needs to tweeze.

Anywho I loved it. The first scene with the Death Eaters going around smashing stuff up was AWESOME. I also loved the cave scene, SO glad they had Quidditch back. Although, I guess if they took it out, half the romantic stuff would be missing.

I think one of the best decisions they made was to cut most all of the battle at the end out. Isnt it nice to climax a harry potter film without a battle? Trapdoor-chamber of secrets-shrieking shack-graveyard-department of mysteries-*minor confrontation* - forest/hogwarts castle.

makes a nice change of pace.

saw it at midnight, the first two hours were great and actually fun to watch, then the last half hour they just absolutely killed it. they take all the mystery out of Malfoy in the very beginning of the movie and then completely diminish the fact that a certain main character dies and another important issue that is essentially the basis for the plot in DH. as a movie it was good but as a harry potter movie it completely misses the point.

maybe im just holding the movie up to an extremely high standard as the last two potter movies were both very well done but its going to be interesting to see how DH is going to mop it all up...

oh btw, the release date for DH part 1 is set for august 10th 2010

Maybe I was over-hyped and expecting too much because I'd read a lot of good reviews, but I didn't find it as good as I thought it would be. I did miss the battle scene - I'll never get sick of Harry Potter battles! - and I think they could have given a few scenes more impact, such as sectumsempra and Harry vs Snape. However, Cormac McLaggen is extremely sexy...especially that finger-licking scene...I thought I'd die.

to those above praising film saying the battel wasent needed the funeral not eneded thats so wrong.

to say the battel between student/teachers/order and death eaters isnt needed is wrong as it is to kill off one of the main characters after in the books and the films they allways make such a big thign of the security of hogwarts they needed to show how the enemy had to battel their way to dumbledore and out of the castle. as it was tehy got in jsut went straight to him killed him and walked out:S ... not only is this boring but it takes away from his death as it makes it seem so easy how they got in.

the funeral is needed as i say 1 of the 3 main characters dies and its a beautiful scene at the edge of the lake at sunset with the green slopes in the background and all the people paying respects friends and past enemys alike with the mermaids singing and paying respects... and the phoenix song to the passing of his master.

it would of beent he most beautiful scene and was left out

also aragog the spider was suppost to be bigger than that i remember in the second film he was way bigger :S and in the books you get a much larger sense of scale....

two things they should of done is tonks find harry on train and they talk about sirius and he sees her patronus (sp) lol as it ties in nicelly to her one from next book

and weasley brothers shop would be nice to see more of that.....

but overall it was an ok film

Yeah, that sucks. It was only gonna be the two of those though, which is cool, only one I'm out to that's actually around to socialise with atm. Last time I went to the cinema on my own was about 2/3 yrs ago, I had saved up a bunch of free tickets from work, saw three films in one day with a quicky in between the second and third... I literally was making myself so comfortable, took my shoes off, stretched by legs across the ajoinging seats, it was wicked

dh is practically 760 pages of battles though. death eaters, snatchers, each other. it is battle after battle after battle.

I personally found the silent vigil to be more meaningful than the prospect of having a ten minute scene of talking that only says what anyone with a brain and a basic understanding of the character of harry potter would expect him to say. The he is going to continue the task goes without saying.

I personally am of the opinion of 'if it is good enough for jk rowling, its good enough for me'.
