Turkey is an essential. Also, every new year's eve we join this danish family for dinner so we have a danish-style meal which includes herring (YUM) for starters, along with this bread and some kind of curry with eggs in it, meat with crackling for the main course, and almond rice pudding for desert. (And whoever finds the whole almond in the dessert wins a chocolate bar)

We eat pierogies! If you're Ukrainian, you might know what I'm talking about. They're like potstickers, except instead of whatever those are filled with, pierogies are filled with potatoes and sometimes cheese and onions. Really good!

Every Christmas morning my dad fries real bacon in a cast iron skillet and then uses the bacon grease to cook cheese eggs

I found the explanation oh the pierogies really funny because here they are very common place, and not all albertains are Ukrainian. On the other hand, I have no idea what a potsticker is...

Pierogies rock! My buddy of Polish ancestry got me hooked on them. And I managed to make a liar of myself. I didn't save room for pie this year. :frowning2: It looked really good too.

The traditional Christmas Eve dinner is pizza from Papa John's, and the traditional Christmas day dinner is the usual turkey and mashed potatoes. I also always have this awesome fudge that one of my aunts makes.

Ham with my mom's homemade glaze (been passed down through different generations of her family, it's a top secret recipe), mashed potatoes, sweet potato soufflae, and peanut butter thumbprints, which are peanut butter cookies with a Hershey kiss in the center, yumm.. Oh, and my mom's awesome stuffing...It's the only stuffing I'll eat.
